5 of 5 have it for 1 year now, and its still running good Wednesday, January 30, 2008
GeQue from NY, NY

I store a lot of movies on this drive. The read and write speed is great. So far, for the past 12 months, its been durable. Note that I have not kept it running 24/7. I use it about a few hours a day and shut it down at night. For the price and the performance, you can't beat it. Its a bit bulky since there are 2 drives in there. GL.

1 of 5 >>>DO'NT BUY IOMEGA HARD DRIVES EVEN IF I Monday, January 14, 2008
Shahid from Lakeland, Florida
Hi, I have bought IOMEGA 250 GB hard drive around a year back. I had hardly used it for 6 months and it crashed. It crashed, without any jerk, without falling down, just sitting idle and working. Thank God, it was under warranty!!! The customer support understood the problem and asked me for replacement. But what's great about it. I LOST ALL MY DATA. Now, the new one comes only with 6 months warranty. After 6 months, this also crashed the same way. I again lost my data. I would never recommend this to any one. Same problem has occurred in a sequence with two of them.

5 of 5 Great for backup~ Friday, January 11, 2008
A Customer from San Francisco, CA
I ordered two 1TB at once so that I no longer have to worry about backing-up my files. I plugged the Iomega 1TB drive into my Vista machine, and it picked up right away with no problem.

I then reformatted it from FAT to NTFS system with the default 4kb for allocation. What I learned is that if you tend to use it to store small file sizes, then you should use smaller file allocation to be higher performance. If you tend to use the drive to backup big files like movies or digital photos, then you may consider using higher file allocation like 4kb or higher to make it with better performance.

5 of 5 Great value for the price Thursday, November 29, 2007
Aaron Douglas from Milwaukee, WI
Using this device with Mac OS X Leopard on a Mac Mini Intel with absolutely no problems. I reformatted the drives with Mac OS X Extended file format without any hiccups. Time Machine loves the drive. The drive is quick and noise level is acceptable for being a device I use to back up and not keep on all the time. The only negative comment I can give so far after a month is that it was missing a rubber foot when I got it.

5 of 5 Great so far Wednesday, November 28, 2007
A Customer from Irvine, CA
Very good Quality/Price. So far so good. Have to wait before judging its durability. I am using it for only a few months. Formatted down to about 931 GB disk storage space. I did not use other 1 TB disk storage to compare with this one. I wish it has a smaller, more compact foot print.

5 of 5 Trouble free using with iMac Wednesday, November 28, 2007
A Customer from Glatonbury, CT
Bought to archive home movies as I tranfer from camcorder tapes to DVDs so I can combine clips. Has worked trouble free for about 3 months (100 Gb of data). Reformatted for iMac and works fine - only difficulty was my fault using iMac disk utility (initiallly selected volume for reformatting rather than root device icon). Some fan noise but otherwise is quiet. It would be nice if more inexpensive external drives came with FireWire interfaces, but for archiving, it is fine. Buy.com so far has always done a good job with my purchases.

5 of 5 Good drive at a reasonable price Monday, October 15, 2007
Jerry from Macon, GA
I've used the drive for 3 weeks. Worked out of the box. Very simple, plugged into XP PC, new drive found and formatted. The format took all night. Write speeds are ok, but the limit is USB 2.0. Light fan noise, but not distracting. I'm using for back up of raw and edited video files - around 26Gb per event. Great benefit to retain work in a Terabyte and maintain working space on the PC.

Works great, detects automatically in XP and windows server 2003. Partitions to the full size minus reasonable overhead. Have owned for 4 months with no problems! Runs very cool and quiet.

4 of 5 Solid Product Wednesday, September 26, 2007
Tim from Hebron, MD
I think this is a good product at a good price. I have two issues with it though; 1) it does not have an option to stand on it's side to use less space and 2) it is a bit noisy when it spins.

5 of 5 Lot'sa Space for Music and PIctures Tuesday, September 25, 2007
A Customer from San Antonio, Texas
I bought this drive for my wife to store her vast amount of pictures and music. She is quite happy with the speed and volume. She recently used the drive to migrate between multiple desktops and laptops.

5 of 5 Holy Mackerel! Tuesday, September 25, 2007
Captain Drew from Rancho Santa Fe, CA
ONE TERABYTE!! I can remember when 80 MB was a BIG hard drive. This was JUST what I needed to 'back up' all my stuff on 4 other smaller drives. Quality brand name that you can trust and bought from a retailer where I have spent thousands of dollars and know I can trust them. Probably would have found my way to Buy.Com anyway, but www.shopzilla said it was the cheapest price for a high quality 1 TB drive, so it was a no-brainer. . .and FREE shipping too!

5 of 5 great so far! Tuesday, September 25, 2007
LB from MTown
ive had this for almost 2 months now and it has been great...consolidated a bunch of old drives and sold/gave them to friends...fits everything, has an on off switch for the drive but not for the fan like the 1TB calvary drive equivalent. It's basically a large silver brick and runs pretty quiet.

5 of 5 Spectacular for Backups! Friday, September 21, 2007
A Customer from Phoenix, AZ
I purchased two so I could rotate backups offsite. (Even if you have a backup in your office, what would you do if there was a fire or theft?) These are fast for external drives (do note that they need to be reformatted to NTFS for optimal use, and turn off indexing and system restore on them), and they provide tremendous capacity for the price. I have been so pleased with the two I purchased, I just ordered another one for additional temporary storage. Highly recommended!!

5 of 5 You CAN'T pass this up Tuesday, August 14, 2007
Bryan Province from East Peoria, IL
I was afraid the enclosure would sound like a jet engine next to my iMac. It's very quiet. The two internal drives appear as a single 931.4GB drive. If you're doing video editing, this is a real value.
