Iomega 1TB Prestige Desktop USB 2.0 External Hard Drive

I've ordered other of these Iomega 1TB external hard drives, usb... and I'm very happy. They arrive quickly, I just plug it in to the power and the usb port on my computer and they are up and running right away (formatted NTSC), and this one is even smaller in size than previous ones I've ordered, so I'm liking them more and more each time I get one. I've had the previous Iomega external HD for over a year, and I store lots of video on it and in fact use it actively quite often to edit video from, even via usb, and so far it's still very reliable. I hope I don't jinx it by writing this. But, as with any HD, if you have important stuff (like video/film work), it's best to back up in at least two places, so I didn't hesitate to get another Iomega 1TB external HD when I saw it advertised for such a good price, to have more back up space for all the work I do. Good reliable, easy, solid drives, I think.

I haven't seen any 1 tb external drives for much cheaper than this (94.99 plus tx, free shipping). Arrived quickly - as things always do from Buy.com. I only use it for a weekly backup of my data, but so far has been working fine. No backup software, but I just drag the files I want to save and drop it in the drive. I hope that's the correct way to back up the files - I am a low tech person in a high tech world. Worked right out of the box - very important for low techs like me.

The Iomega 1TB drive has a small form factor, works great as attached storage via USB 2.0. I use it for backing up my installed hard drives. I found the included Retrospect HD backup software very easy to setup and use, and a lot of people will find it is all you need. But since it does not make an image of your hard drive, on a disk failure, you still need to reinstall your Operating System (and all Service Packs) which is a chore I'd like to avoid so I am using Acronis True Image instead as my backup software - it works great with this drive. The advertised Mozy 2Gb of online storage is what it is, but I think if you want a 2Gb online backup account on Mozy you can get it for free anyway, you don't need to purchase ths drive (as implied by the advertising). Overall, an amazing value for 1TB of drive space.

Needed more storage for photos. The drive arrived quickly, easy to set-up, is fast, and so far, it surpasses my expectations. Highly recommended.

The Iomega 1T drive is very easy to use. I plugged it in, cabled it up, and turned it on and Windows XP did the rest. A drive letter was created for it, and in seconds I was adding files to it by drag-drop in File Explorer. My only complaint is that it is noisier than my external Maxtor drives. It also seems to run a little warmer. But the price is right and it is very easy to use.

I have other Iomega external hard drives (less storage capability). They are all reliable and durable. This one is no exception. Highly recommend. Good value.
