my only two gripes are as follows, #1 it gets really hot where the power cord connects and # 2 the usb cable to plug the hub into the computer is only as long as shown in the picture, not much more than an inch. =/ it is quick and small however so it definently serves its purpose for the price. I've had this USB hub for over a year now, and it has performed flawlessly, at ambient temperatures ranging from below-freezing to above 85 F, even with a 30 fps video camera signal (plus 2 other pieces of telescope hardware) attached. Several other USB hubs were unable to handle the video data in addition to the other attached hardware, but the data all sailed through the IOGEAR micro with no problems. This is easily the highest-quality hub I own (out of five or six), in terms of both construction and performance. In fact, I'm at the Buy.com web site today to purchase another one, even though I have a couple other manufacturers' hubs currently lying around unused. Was this review helpful?
My criteria when looking for a hub included:
1. Small form factor (I travel a lot)
2. At least 4 ports
3. USB 2.0 compatibility
4. Did not REQUIRE auxiliary power, but had the option

IOGEAR delivered on all counts, and I'm very pleased with the unit and its simple and functional design. I'm currently using four devices (wireless mouse, Palm cradle, keyboard, flash drive), and have not needed to use the auxiliary power at all. Since I travel, I like that the USB connector folds into the unit for storage.

My one note is the unit does get quite hot during use, but haven't noticed any problems resulting from the heat. Was this review helpful?
