5 of 5 Combo card works great! Wednesday, February 14, 2007 Mike R. from Eldersburg, MD
This combo card works as advertised. Uses native drivers with Windows XP-Sp2 - no other drivers required. Tested video capture with a Sony mini-DV camcorder using firewire port, no dropped frames after hours of capture. Verifed USB2.0 high speed (480 Mbps) using a Canon SD700 camera and ipod. File transfers were so much faster than USB1.1. This card uses the ALI chipset. Other reviewers had problems with cards using the VIA chipset. Works great! Would recommend and buy again. 3 of 3 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Plugged, played, worked! Saturday, October 08, 2005 TW from Savannah, GA
Plugged it in, started up, and everything worked without having to install any drivers under Windows XP.
Using the USB 2.0 ports for my scanner and digital camera, my testing showed that I can scan color documents 2x faster than before and transfer digital camera photos 5x faster than before.
I bought this particular card because it includes Firewire on the same card. I tried that out and captured live full-resolution video from my DV camcorder without any problem.
Overall a very satisfying upgrade at a modest price. Was this review helpful?
