5 of 5 Works Perfectly Wednesday, July 15, 2009 Dave Stewart, KN4DS from Perry, GA
I like that no power adapter is needed, and it gives me two serial ports on just one USB port. I'm using it to control a ham radio transceiver and provide Morse code keying on the 2nd port.
With today's computers having no serial ports, and sometimes limited USB ports (sure, you can add a USB hub, but this device helps put off that day), it's nice to be able to double up like this.
Installation is a snap. Run the driver installer from the included CD, and plug it in. You'll immediately have two new COM ports for whatever device you need. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 I/O Gear is good stuff. Saturday, March 21, 2009 John Gercken, AA9UF from Bellflower, IL
I like the fact that I need no wall transformer for the I/O Gear USB to Serial converter. It runs on the 5V from the USB port. I use it for computer control of my two ham radio transceivers. It looks nice and the price was reasonable.
