5 of 5 Worked like a charm for my PowerMac G4! Tuesday, March 11, 2008 t.meesseman@gmail.com from Aiken, SC
Even with the good ratings, I was a bit sceptical about this card being compatible with my G4. I'm glad I ignored my scepticism, because this thing worked FLAWLESSLY. It came with an install disk, but there was no need... I plugged it in and it worked - simple as that. I was even happy to see that my previously non-working USB-wireless adapter was also now working with this new card!
This thing is truly plug & play for Mac... Was this review helpful?

i have an older mac G4 (mirror drives), installed with tiger then upgraded to leopard, and it worked without a problem. ipod transfers are much faster, and it charges it too. printer, camera, flash drives, all work as well. Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Dual G4 Mac won't sleep with card installed Sunday, September 16, 2007 A Customer from San Marino, CA
I installed this card into a dual G4 PowerMac (MDD - mirrored drive doors, windtunnel) and ever sice, the machine won't wake from sleep. I have to hard reboot it to get it to work again. I took the card out and everything was back to normal. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Bargain and easy to install Saturday, August 11, 2007 A Customer from NJ
Literally had this card up and running 5 minutes after opening the box. Popped it in the PCI slot and powered up the computer and within minutes I had 4 high speed USB ports. And with a price of less than $30.00 with the shipping, you can't ask for much more. Was this review helpful?

This installs easily but it intermittently and unreliably recognizes a brand-new Iomega external hard drive and also an external DVD-ROM. Moreover, tech support at Iogear is useless and clueless. My recommendation is to try another product. Was this review helpful?

IOGEAR = good components. 2 sec install in a Mac PowerMac G4. I use this upgrade card as a pro photographer. Faster than firewire 400 in my basic tests for downloading SD cards Vs CF cards. USB 1.0 = 14 minute download. USB 2.0 same card 1 minute 20 sec.
No driver needed if running Panther. 10.3 etc.
Love it ,love it! BUY.Com is tops but Yub...give me a break!. I'm buying more and more from Buy.com for ease of returns/price. Avoid LaCie Porsche HDD's and try Maxtor instead.. random advice. Buy.com has excellent value of Maxtor HDD's 4-12-2005. As good as Costco sometimes better on the big ones 250GB etc.
One Happy Chap! usually comparison shop macMall/Amazon/Buy. Good reputable + easy returns. Was this review helpful?

Been suffering with a USB 1.1 connection for the last few years. I wanted a faster USB port to work with my MP3 player, digital camera, and a new external drive - but I couldn't justify upgrading my whole computer; so I gave this a try. The card plugged in no problem and was instantly recognized by Win XP. Took about 3 minutes total to install. Performance seems fine - much, much faster transfer rates over old card. Well worth the $17. Was this review helpful?
