1 of 5 Mini USB Poor Quality Saturday, August 11, 2007
Doug from Fairfax, VA

I bought this in Sept 2006. It has lasted me off & on almost 10 months with intermittent loss of connectivity for an external hard drive had attached to this hub. Now, it failed completely and I had to purchase another hub. The price was low, and I got what I paid for.

4 of 5 IOGear 4 Port USB 2.0 Micro Hub - GUH275 Monday, April 23, 2007
Poppajohn from Moses Lake, WA
USB plug-in devices make me nervous, as I'm fearful of inadvertantly damaging a fixed device projecting from the computer (a monumentally stupid design approach, in my opinion.) The mini hub's flexible member allows sufficient "give" to ensure against damage for both PCs and laptops( a markedly useful design approach,in my opinion), with mechanical protection for multiple devices such as bluetooth mouse and keyboard, flash memory, etc.

4 of 5 Great with one flaw Wednesday, February 07, 2007
Dan from Washington, DC
This hub is tiny, attractive, and works quite well so far. The one problem: the cable to connect it to the computer is literally only 2 inches long, and it's a captive cable so you can't replace it. Without a USB extension cable, it's hard to position the hub where you want it on your desk :-( Otherwise a good product at a low price.

4 of 5 Good product Monday, September 18, 2006
Manoj Jain from Middletown, PA
Good product for the price. I had already read reviews on Buy.com about the product getting too hot, which was the case with mine too. However, it is really compact and useful for small things like USB drive, Bluetooth adapter, webcam, etc. I liked it mainly for the compactness. If the heat does not bother you than go for it. If you use things such as external hard drive or dvd burner, a power adapter is recommended. No power adapter is included with this product.

5 of 5 Great Thursday, September 14, 2006
Chris from College Station, TX
It's really cheap, small and works just fine. No problems at all. The thing gets pretty hot when you have it plugged in all day, but that doesn't seem to cause any problems. I have a cordless mouse and keyboard, a webcam, my printer, and my digital camera plugged in to it and they all work just like they do when they're plugged straight in to the computer. They don't emphasize how small it is. Look at the dimmensions. It's real small and would work great for portable use with a laptop.

4 of 5 same multiple hub owned Monday, August 28, 2006
A Customer from las vegas, nv
I'm not extremely happy nor sad about this product. it's ok. there's some better priced out there for twice as much more ports. but you'll get the same possible problem as this one. The power isn't very reliable nor is the speed. So things that should run higher, despite being the only one plugged in, run at lower speed. All these problems though are only intermittent on one of the 3 I own. So not a bad average, but still not great. I hope the one you get doesn't have the problems my one of three does.

4 of 5 Does not come with power cord Saturday, June 24, 2006
J from Lawton, OK
The size of this hub is excellent for use with a notebook. This hub, however, does not come with a power cord. The cord is sold seperately. Not a bit issue if you are not using power hungry items. I have noticed however that the hub tends to get very hot to the touch after prolonged usage but have not experienced any problems as a result of it. Good for the price.

1 of 5 Buggy or Noisy Sunday, June 11, 2006
mark from Valdosta, GA
I bought one of these here. The hub is buggy or noisy; it generally works, but the computer complains about USB communications problems through it. Some devices, e.g., a Logitech Camera, won't work at all -- presumably because they're using checksums to detect errors. Others, like a mouse, will work -- but the mouse pointer jumps around the screen. I don't know if mine is just defective, or if there's a fundamental design flaw.

3 of 5 Great portable, but poor desktop solution Saturday, March 18, 2006
geekonomist from New York, NY
The device is priced to sell and should be marketed as a portable usb hub, not one a desktop solution. It performs well, achieving speeds advertised. Also it draws enough power for demanding devices like ipods. For these reasons, I scored 4 for value and 4 for performance. The fatal design flaw is that the connecting usb cord is extremely short. Obviously, it is designed so that it can fold away into the device for portability. If I ever decide to use it with my laptop, I'm sure it will work great! -however the device isn't marketed as a portable solution. Needless to say, depending on where you have an extra usb port, this device could be a pain in the ass. Therefore ease of use and overall satisfaction are scored 3.

4 of 5 Fine Hublet, unless you have an iPod Shuffle Friday, March 03, 2006
A Customer from Santa Cruz, CA
Pretty nice little USB hublet, especially if you have a laptop and your peripherals need to be as small, light and portable as possible. Unfortunately, when plugged into a Mac Mini (PowerPC G4 1.5 GHz) the iPod Shuffle does not get a green light, but an amber light. The Shuffle needs either a whole USB port to itself (one on the Mini) or some other hub besides this one. Maybe a Shuffle problem, but USB hubs should "just work." This one seems to for all of our other peripherals.

5 of 5 TEENY tiny Friday, February 17, 2006
Chewingfoil from San Fran, CA
initially, what put me off about this thing is what brought me back to get a second one: its size!

I bought the first one because I needed a usb hub that didn't need a power supply of its own; this one fit the bill.

When it got here, I was surprised by how small it was--it fits in the palm of my hand...I mean..my cell phone is bigger!

Thin and compact, this baby barely takes up any space,

It's been working so well that I wanted another one for my two pound Dell Latitude X-1 teeny tiny laptop; being so small, its case isn't exactly roomy, but this fits right in.

Great item, couldn't be happier!

4 of 5 Simple and Works Monday, November 28, 2005
A Customer from Golden, CO
Perfect for the road warrior that needs more USB 2 ports for their laptop. It is very small. It is about the size of an IPOD Nano. The USB 2 connector that goes into the computer is very short. About an inch!

5 of 5 Nice Little Compact Hub Friday, July 22, 2005
A Customer from CA, Rosemead
This is a really nice little compact hub. I like its milk white color and the compact size---easy to carry with my laptop. Also, it works great--not only good for USB 2.0 but also has compatibility for USB 1.1. I ordered it on Buy.com and was so surprised to receive it the second day---that's...fast! Thank you Buy.com for providing customers the lowest price, greatest item and fastest shipping!

5 of 5 So Hot Wednesday, May 25, 2005
HEBFLYER from Indianapolis, IN
I really like this little hub! For one thing it matches the color of my Dell 700m laptop. For the other it is compact enough to fit in one of my cases small pockets. The short cable that fits into the hub body is ideal for travel and I don't have to wrestle with an extra cable. It does feel a bit warm at first, but then is less warm as I use it. I can hold it in my hand all day and not be too uncomfortable with the warmeth. Lastley, the price was right from Buy.Com

5 of 5 Great price on very functional USB hub Sunday, April 10, 2005
Paul from Livingston TX
I have my mouse, printer, external hard drive, and card reader plugged into this compact hub. All run perfectly. It is warm to the touch, but certainly not hot. True plug & play, no problems or setup hassles.

5 of 5 tiny, plug and play Tuesday, March 29, 2005
A Customer from Nicky, NC
I couldn't believe how tiny this hub is! Plugged into XP laptop and was ready to use 4 peripherals immediately. It will go everywhere in my laptop travel bag from now on, and I have a second one to keep my desktop peripherals plugged in and ready to go. Excellent price and fast delivery. Thanks, buy.com!

5 of 5 Excellent buy! Friday, March 25, 2005
A Customer from Mercerville NJ
Very nicely put together and Buy dot com added great value by selling it inexpensive... , what I meant to say was a steal! I'd love to buy more if I could only get my hands on these slick looking babies now. Just remember 480Mbps is only attainable with an optional power adapter (not included) and USB 2.0 on your system. You'll still get the 12Mbps without the adapter and with my old Dell laptop that's fine by me.

4 of 5 IOGear 4 Port USB 2.0 Micro Hub - GUH275 Saturday, February 19, 2005
Boris from Belmont, MA
Pros: Very compact, stylish, and handy to carry with notebook. Cons: Somewhat flimsy construction and runs hot when plugged in, even when there are no high current devices plugged in. Running hot means that the device itself consumes considerable power, resulting in reduced battery time if running notebook on batteries. In contrast, USB 1.1 hubs run cool and are much more efficient with power consumption. Still it is handy for occasional use.
