| | | | Eliminate Cable Clutter
Iogear's HDMI switch enables you to have a cleaner and simpler home entertainment setup by eliminating cable clutter.
Iogear's HDMI switch connects your HDTV to your source devices with a single HDMI cable; eliminating the cable clutter from connecting each single source device directly to your HDTV.
Instead, simply connect your HDTV using a single HDMI cable to the switch which is placed along with all your source devices such as your DVD player, video game console, AV receiver, media servers etc. All your source devices will then connect into the switch. This setup configuration allows for easy access for future expansion of your home entertainment center. Hence, an ideal solution for wall mounted HDTV environments.
Maintain a Single Universal Remote to control your Home Entertainment Center
Iogear's patented HDAS automatic switching technology will automatically switch to the active device which eliminates the need for a dedicated remote for the switch. It's very simple – just turn on the device that you want viewed on your HDTV using a Universal remote or source remote. If you want to switch over to another source device, simply use the Universal remote or source remote to power on the desired device. In addition, since all the source devices will be connected to a single HDMI connection on the HDTV via the switch, it eliminates the need to manually switch among the AV inputs to display the video from the different source devices.
The 4-port HDMI Automatic Switch comes with an optional switch remote. The switch remote enables you to switch among the devices by selecting the desired video port.
A Learning Universal Remote can learn the functions of the switch remote*. This way, at a press of a button, you can switch among devices without powering on and off the devices.

Iogear's HDMI Automatic Switch enables you to connect multiple HD source devices to your HDTV for your viewing pleasure.
It is an ideal solution for connecting multiple HD media devices such as…
Video game consoles

2 of 5 Doesn't Work with all Equipment Wednesday, July 08, 2009 A Customer from Toledo, OH
I bought this switch in hopes it would eliminate the hassle of plugging and unplugging different devices into my TV. Instead of working as described the switch causes both my DVR and DVD player to display the great fuzz after briefly producing a non-HDCP compliant message. Let me say, the switch is well designed and if it worked with all HDMI equipment it would be a great product - but it doesn't.
I ended up going to the a local store and finding a manual switch for $27.00 dollars that works perfectly - except of course you have to manually switch between devices.
This product is a real disappointment. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Very handy product Monday, March 23, 2009 Reme from Phoenix AZ
Received it on time and in good order. Good value. Does what it's meant to do. Product worked right out of the box; easy setup plug and play. Makes a neater connection without all the cables. There is a slight delay when switching from my TV to my Blu-ray player but I have not experienced the continuous automatic switching between sources that others refer to. I recommend this product. 4 of 5 Great HDMI Switch Tuesday, February 10, 2009 A Customer from Childersburg
This HDMI switch was very easy to install and works great. The value is increadable. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 It simply works Sunday, August 24, 2008 John from Celebration, Florida
Not much to say about this switch. I plugged it in, hooked up the HDMI cables, and it worked.....simple as that. There is sometimes a slight delay in the auto switching while it decides the changes when I turn on another piece of equipment (especially the blu-ray) and then it just does what it is supposed to do. I can think of no higher praise for a piece of electronic gear! Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 3 of 5 Auto-switching doesn't seem to work... Sunday, February 24, 2008 Elliott from Phoenix, AZ
I couldn't seem to get the auto-switching to work. I've got this connected to an AppleTV and a Cox cable DVR. Apparently neither shuts off the HDMI output when turning off (but rather blanks to black). Therefore, this device never detects a new signal coming online and so it can't know when to switch. To make things worse, my AppleTV has started crashing recently. This is speculation, but I think it's related to this device. At one point while watching a rented movie, I saw a message about "This content requires HDCP to view". (This box claims HDCP compatibility, and the message did go away after a few moments.) This device rapidly cycles through inputs to find active signals, and I think this detection confuses AppleTV sometimes. The two just don't seem to play nice together. I've returned the product for a cheaper option with just a plain remote. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great Product, But One Flaw Saturday, February 23, 2008 A Customer from Madison, WI
The product works fantastic and exactly as advertised. The only flaw this product has is if it is used with a Satellite receiver. I have dish network and when I plug my dish network receiver into the switch and I plug another device into the switch, something very strange happens. It's like it is trying to switch back and forth between both video sources, EVEN if the second device (which is a DVD player) isn't even on. So every second that goes by the screen goes black for about a half a second then comes back to the picture making TV unwatchable. If they resolve this problem with their product, then I would see no reason to buy many of them. Although, if you have two HDMI ports on your TV, your satellite receiver can just plug into the free one and have the switch go into the other one. Overall a great product, definitely recommended. 4 of 5 Overall it works well except for the remote contro Thursday, September 27, 2007 A Customer from Short Hills, NJ
I have my Iogear 4 Port Automatic HDMI switch for over a month. My TV is a Panasonic TH-42PX600U Plasma TV and I have two HDMI devices connected to the switch. They are the Panasonic DVD-S53K 1080p up-converting DVD player and a D-Link DSM-520 HD Media Player. So far I did not observe any degradation in the video (1080i) and audio quality with the switch added and the automatic port selection works perfectly. The remote control does not seem to be working too well. For mine, only the down arrow button works, the other 5 buttons do not seem to work.
Originally I also have a Sony DHG-HDD500 HD DVR connected to the switch. However, this DVR has automatic output switching between component video output and HDMI output and it conflicts with the HDMI switch’s automatic port selection, causing the HDMI switch into non-stop hunting mode. I think all automatic switches have this problem. Was this review helpful?
