Works, but need to push button to switch between PCs. Wish it would automagically see and process the data stream so you don't have to push the button to switch. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 No problems, works like it should Saturday, December 27, 2008 A Customer from Sierra Vista, AZ
Pretty self explanatory to connect and use. Turn on one of your computers and it connects (you hear it beep so you know it is connected to the peripherial device). If the volume of the beep it too loud, you can turn it down. The switch between two devices works just like it should as well. No problems- kids can do it! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 It works as expected. Sunday, November 30, 2008 A Customer from Dublin, CA
A little bit slow, but it's OK.
I use it for switching USB hub that connects 4 devices.

It truly is Plug and Play. Switches between my Desktop PC and MacBook Pro no problem. Supports all functions of the Multifunction Printer it is hooked up to. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 So far So Good Saturday, April 05, 2008 Hamid Mukhtar from Danville, PA
I have not had very good luck with IOGear products. However, this one exceeded my expectations. I have multiple peripherals. They are all connected to my computer via a single usb port through a series of three USB2 hubs. I have 2 computers that I use on my desk via a KVM switch. I was looking for something that will let me share all my peripherals between the 2 computers. This one does it without losing High speed USB2 features very conveniently via a task bar icon.
I hope this lasts the way it is working. I have only used it for 2 days so far. I am really happy that I bought it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Gets The Job Done Monday, April 23, 2007 A Customer from Woodbridge, VA
Why bother with a print server if you only need to share one printer with two computers? I have two computers and one laser printer. I print from one computer or the other, never both at once. This device works just fine. Easy to set up and to use. USB 2.0 so it's fast. 4-hub model available if you have more than 2 computers. Was this review helpful?

I am using this as a switch for my printer/scanner combo. I have an Apple airport express which I have set up to allow me to print wirelessly from my laptop. However, I can't use the scanner functionality wirelessly. Rather than having to plug in and unplug USB cables any time I want to scan, I got this device. It works very well. I just have one of the input cables coming from the airport express. The other input I plug into my laptop if I want to do any scanning. I have the output running to the printer/scanner combo. Now to scan all I have to do is push the button on the device to switch from one input to the other and I have a direct link from my Mac to the printer/scanner. For something this basic, I had hoped it would cost a little less, but it works well.
A few times, it's not switched ports when I've wanted it to. I believe this is because it won't if there's activity on the USB port you're trying to switch to. A slight annoyance, not sure if there'd be any negative effect if it allowed you to switch in such a situation. This is the only disadvantage to using it with a Mac, as the included software which allows you more control over the swtiching only works on PC, and why I gave it a 4 rating instead of 5.
