    This unit connects the keyboard and mouse to the computers over a single USB connection, that was a surprise to me. Both our Mac and Windows computers had some troubles recognizing the KB and mouse at first. After some some software was installed (automatically) by these computers, it has been working quite well. It is a good value for the price we paid.

    I bought this USB-based KVM switch to replace an older PS/2 KVM switch. Not only would the mouse function not work, it damaged the mouse program in one computer and caused the other to lock up. Buyer beware!
