Michael Fredo's INTRODUCING MICHAEL FREDO is the sound of '90s boy-group pop filed down to one. Though he's not flanked by a phalanx of equally pretty harmonizing pals, the photogenic young Fredo proves expert at the kind of high-gloss pop that made stars of acts like 'N Sync and Boyzone. A pop pantheist, Fredo freely wanders into R&B, ballads, dance music, and even rap (see the intro to the saucy "Heartbreaker"). INTRODUCING MICHAEL FREDO's production is lush and seamless, full of expertly deployed electronic rhythms and silky synthesizers. Quincy Jones himself is one of the executive producers, a sure sign that great care has been taken to provide waterproof tracks over which Fredo can lay his million-dollar romantic crooning. |
