4 of 5 Good value for money Thursday, December 11, 2008 Saleem from Rochester Hills, MI
You get what you pay for!
This camera does a good job for $80 paid.
It clicks good pictures in daylight. For night or dim light pictures are not that great.
It is able to work underwater, bcoz of transparent case. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Very pleased with my Intova IC 500 Wednesday, December 10, 2008 phil from qld, aust
I have just taken my intova ic 500 camera out on it's first dive, and I have to say I am quite impressed. It is a very cheap camera, compared to what is on the market. I dived in mediocre conditions with bad vis and a decent amount of surge, so I wasn't expecting good pictures. However, I was very pleased with what I got. The images were clear, showed the reef as I saw it, and when I was able to take a still (no surge) the picture turned out excellent. The video option is also very pleasing. Even taking into consideration the limitations mentioned by other users, I am very happy with this camera. If you are looking for a cheap but reasonable alternative, this is a great option. 4 of 5 super Wednesday, October 15, 2008 Greg from NJ
Apparently you can only submit a "good" review on this site so I had to give high scale numbers to get this posted.
Pictures are fuzzy and color is fair. Videos are even worse. Company states that images can be time stamped but you can't even enter or adjust the time or date on the camera. All pictures and videos are dated 1/1/00. File names are reset to 0 every time sd card is removed or images are downloaded. Size and weight are terrific but very little thought given to software. 4 of 5 Great Little Camera for Little $$$ Wednesday, September 03, 2008 A Customer from Cypress, CA
Although this is a great camera for the price, I was disappointed that this camera does not have any optical zoom. (I have contacted Buy.com regarding this false statement in their product description, but they have not done anything about it. But that is not the camera's fault.) This camera takes great pictures, even under water. The captured video is also great, with sound being recorded even when the camera is sealed in its enclosure. And since you only need two AAA beteries, you'll pretty much never run out of power. Was this review helpful?

I bought this just prior to going to the Galapagos Islands. We used it extensively while snorkeling. We got GREAT U/W photos and better yet, U/W video! It was super easy to use - we took it while kayaking and also used it for land shots. I would definitely recommend this camera. It took great U/W picts and videos, it's easy to use, and seems well made. We picked up the aaa batteries designed for digital cameras and they last longer than the typical aaa batteries. Highly recommended. Was this review helpful?

First off this camera is designed to be a cheap camera to take diving, surfing, snorkeling or anywhere else you may need a wterproof camera. For fthe price it is a great buy. I baught it and took it diving in Hawaii down to 90 ft. and was pleased with the results. The shutter speed is a little slow for action shots I took about 120 pictures on 2 dives and about 95 of them turned out great the others were blured. I have had about the same luck without the WP case just using it as a second camera. For the most part the pictues come out great, but as I said this camera is deffinately not for fast action shots. It's hard to find even a WP case for a regular digital camera for under $200 let alone a camera and a case for under $100. This is a great deal for someone that just wants occational underwater camera use. NO this is not a professinal camera, but for $100 what more could you ask for. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Super pics, but needs help in the user modes... Saturday, January 05, 2008 Tre from Austin, TX
I bought this camera to take while snorkeling. The waterproof case did its duty, and we had no problems with it, and even allowed our 7 year old to do some of the picture taking duty. All of the functions are controlled by buttons, and they are mirrored on the waterproof case (BTW, the camera can be removed). The pictures are bright and clear, and really came out loads better than some 35 mm throw-away underwater camera.

It comes only with 16 MB of internal memory; an SD card is essential.

Problems that we had: it was extremely hard to tell if the camera was on or not- the screen in the back was not very useful in full sunlight, and there didn't appear to be any small LED that would indicate power status. We ended up having to hold the camera to our mask to look at the screen, which meant that we missed a couple of shots we would have liked. The camera also has essentially 2 modes- movie(.avi format) and pictures. Apparently we ended up in movie mode without realizing it, and took a lot of extraneous movies. That sense, very annoying.

The camera uses AAA batteries, which may or may not be as prevalent wherever you're using it, so be forewarned.

All in all, an acceptable camera- we were pleased with its performance and results, and its price. Was this review helpful?
2 of 2 customers found this review helpful. 2 of 5 looks good but not function well Thursday, December 13, 2007 A Customer from nj
pros: looks good, takes 4GB SDHC per its manual, underwater
capability
cons: the biggest problem is it can not focus well and show
details(for example, i took photos of a book, a screen with
diff distance and light, none can read a word), picture
quality is far worse than my old 3mb camera. minor problems
include: no TV cable, no sound in video recording, not easy
to adjust(you can start timer in 1 button push but you need
5+ button pushes to adjust EV, WB, etc)
the WORST thing is to my surprise, BUY.com now no longer allows
return if the package is opened(replace only, unless you can
magically know the problem before open the box) Was this review helpful?
