Makes the i7 940 really questionable to get over this CPU. This CPU can be overclocked to equal and/or pass the i7 940 and possibly the 965 EE. I built my latest PC around this CPU and while it is a great CPU, the performance can probably be matched or surpasses by cheaper CPUs. However, they will not offer the same power gains (although if you OC them, you'll probably not worry about it anyway). Also, the chipset for these CPUs are new, so you'll need a new motherboard which means more $$$.
Functionality wise, there are none better than this CPU. Was this review helpful?

IT OVERCLOCKED TO 4.02GHz WITHOUT ANY ISSUES, SYSTEM IS STABLE AND RUNNING LIKE A CHARM.......I LOVE IT......SUPERFAST.......BUYING EXTREME EDITION IS OVERKILL, MY SYSTEM CAN HANDLE ANY!!
