5 of 5 Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86GHz Dual Core Socket 77 Wednesday, October 11, 2006 Mark from San Antonio Tx
I am a power user which expects a lot of quality and performance from my hardware. I also expect things to be efficient in power consumption and a great deal for the money. I am using this E6300 dual core processor for a Windows 2003 R2 64 bit server running VMware server with 12 Virtual Machines. It does a really great job. It is very fast. No issues at all. Intel has done a great job. Buy.com is also great. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent value Tuesday, September 19, 2006 A Customer from Oklahoma City OK
You simply can't go wrong with all the Core 2 processors, fast, cool and simply cheap for the price/performance ratio. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Monday, September 18, 2006 A Customer from Rockville, MD
I upgraded from a 3.0c Ghz Pentium 4 to the E6300. I had to get a new motherboard, video card and RAM as well since my previous hardware was not compatible with this CPU. So far my experience has been great. It has the ability to overclock very well, though I will leave mine running at stock speed for now since I don't want to heat up my system too much. I do notice a speed increase over my old system but it isn't a drastic change. It does however seem to run a bit cooler and it also consumes less power which is always a plus. I am satisfied with my purchase and would recommend this processor to anyone building a new computer. If you need more speed either overclock the E6300 or preferably, if you have the money buy a higher model such as the E6600 or the E6700. As a final note I recommend getting an aftermarket cooler since the one intel ships with the CPU is... shall we say, inferior to many of the other products out there. I purchased the Swiftech MCX775-v along with a panaflo medium speed fan and it is working out great for me. If you plan to overclock I'd go with the panaflo high speed fan instead though. Is is a bit more noisy but also more effective at cooling. Overall this is an excellent product. Was this review helpful?

This processor is awesome!!! Too bad it doesn't exist yet, but the benchmarks look great!!
Can't wait to actually buy one and retire my old AMD and my old Intel Pentium D. This beats'em both!!!! Was this review helpful?
