Quad-Mode Solution for maximum flexibility
Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN provides deployment flexibility and connectivity convenience by offering a quad mode (supporting 802.11a/b/g/Draft-N) product, which is capable of connecting to new "Connect with Intel® Centrino® processor technology" wireless N Access Points / Routers, but can also connect to any of the legacy Wi-Fi standards, 802.11a, b or g.
Up to 5x faster
Data rates up to 300Mbps offer major improvement over today's 802.11a/g products that deliver 54Mbps. This helps overcome network capacity issues, allowing increased simultaneous network activity for large file transfers, network backups, streaming video, multi-player gaming, VoIP and more.
Intel® PROSet v11.1 WLAN Software
Well known, feature-rich application provides continued support for legacy and next generation Draft-N features on Microsoft Windows 2000*, Microsoft Windows XP* and Microsoft Windows Vista* via an 'easy to use' interface.

5 of 5 Does what it's supposed to... Wednesday, March 25, 2009 Tim from San Diego, CA
It arrived with the software CD and install guide which I was pleasantly surprised by. Although the drivers were out of date, it was still a plus. You can get the latest drivers from the Intel website. The card tested good upon install and I'm happy with it. You should make sure that you have an intel processor if you plan to buy this card; an Intel Centrino in particular. Otherwise you will have compatability issues. It replaced my Dell 1490 wifi card in my M90 laptop. Definitely a step up. Have a close look at the Intel website regarding this card before purchasing. Thanks Buy.com!!! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Card! Wednesday, January 21, 2009 A Customer from Spring Branch, TX
Installed in a Dell Laptop, used 2 antenna wires and went from 54mbps to 130 mbps. Result - much faster downloads and network performance. Was this review helpful?

Card purchased to replace troublesome Atheros AR5007 for my Acer Aspire One. Works perfectly in Vista SP1 and XP SP3. Drivers from Intel.com or Windows Update (WHQL) will work. Excellent range. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Excellent Product Monday, June 30, 2008 A Customer from Gilbert, AZ
Purchased a laptop from Buy.com that included a Marvel wireless adapter that NEVER worked well. After fighting with it for ~1 month, I moved to this Intel card. Installed card/drivers, no issues since. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Intel 4965AGN review ... Sunday, June 01, 2008 A Customer from Kalamazoo, MI
Nice card, but consider the following:
1) Most laptops with 11g cards have two antennas ... this card has a hookup for three. Without three (and with appropriate security as detailed in #2), the card will connect at a max of 130 Mbps.
2) To connect at speeds above 54 Mbps (11g), you'll need a draft N or MIMO router, and the security has to be set at WPA/WPA2 and TKIP/AES. Does not appear to connect above 54Mbps w/ WEP.
3) My laptop seems to connect quicker with the Windows XP utility over the Intel software ... I installed drivers only ... very happy! Was this review helpful?
