5 of 5 Nice unit Sunday, January 04, 2009 AB from Gibsonville, NC
I purchased this as an add on to the Christmas gift (XBOX 360 Arcade) my children were to get. This was based off prior issues of the XBOX 360 gettting the "red ring of death" from overheating. I asked them to keep it turned on anytime they play the game. They never turn off the cooler. I have not heard of problems and no complaints of the sound from the cooler. It has a lifetime guarantee which is rare these days in electronics. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 A Good add on Thursday, July 03, 2008 Mark from Renton, WA
Before I had purchased this cooler, my game discs would come out of my 360 extremely warm. After attaching this cooler to my 360, the discs are much cooler when I take them out.
The cooler will not completely stop the red ring of death (RRoD), but it will help greatly. The unit hooks to the ventilation holes on the back of the 360 and is very easy to install. The only step in attaching the cooler to the box is to squeeze the cooler, flexible plastic, and put the hooks into the holes. It uses its own power cord, so there is no power sharing. It works well in conjunction with the stand cooler made by the same manufacturer (the stand cooler blows air into the 360, this cooler pulls warm air out). With both the fan and the cooler the 360 runs at a much cooler temperature than without them.
As a reviewer said earlier, the only downside to this unit is that is noisy. It will effectively add about 30% - 40% more noise to your 360. That is the only reason that I'm not rating it a 5. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Seriously amazing Monday, June 09, 2008 A Gamer from branchburg new jersey
This cooler is really good. I like it because isnt hooked up to the 360's power supply so it wont screw up the console. Also, i played for about 4 hours when gta 4 first came out and it was barely warm compared to times i have played without the cooler. And my father sometimes plays cod4 and he doesnt know how to turn on the cooler so once he stops and i yell at him for not turning on the fan. i turn the fan on and 25 minutes later the 360 doesnt show any symptoms of 3+ hours of play. only downside= loud!
