This quirky coming-of-age tale stars Jay Baruchel (of television's cult hit UNDECLARED) as a young man in the midst of preparing for a wedding to his longtime girlfriend (Alexis Bledel). But who should arrive back in town at this pivotal moment in his life? Only his high school crush! | | Professional Reviews | Reel.com 8 of 10 Rising star Baruchel, best known from his work in Freaks and Geeks, Undeclared, and this summer's Knocked Up, drives the film as the charismatic and goofy, yet sensitive and insightful leading man...The supporting cast of characters, including Katey Sagal, DJ Qualls, Victor Rasuk, and Chris Parnell, are all terrific in their quirky roles, filling in to give Mud Meadows an authentic small-town feel...The film itself truly embodies the spirit of independent filmmaking. The producer, screenwriter (the real Reed Fish), and director all made their debut in feature filmmaking with I'm Reed Fish. Sure, there are some parts of the film that aren't perfect, including the casting the "real" Jill--who just doesn't have the same spunky spark as Fisk--and the saccharine-sweet outcome is almost too much of a happy ending. But overall, I'm Reed Fish is a strong little indie film with a cast of terrific actors. - Sarah Keech
