There could not have been any gift better for my 5 and 6 year old children then this. It combines creativity and fun and education. We now have a keepsake that I will treasure forever and my children are so proud of their books they wrote and illustrated all on their own.

I have used Illustory with my kids since they were about three years old. The kids LOVE looking back at the books they "wrote" and illustrated when they were young. Great quality product!

I bought this kit for my 5 year old daughter and 9 yr son. The first time they wrote a book they did it for themselves. I was totally surprised at the quality of the finished product when it arrived. It was a totally professional hard-back book. Both kids enjoyed writing the story and illustrating although my 5 yr had my help writing. She just told me the story to write. Both kids were very proud of thier books and showed them to everyone that would look. After this experience we decided to make it an annual Christmas tradition. Both kids make a book for me for Christmas. I told them it is the most important gift that I'll ever receive. Even at 9 and 13 now, they really enjoy doing it. One tip, when you send the completed pages in to be bound, wrap them in plastic so if the package gets wet you don't have a total loss. The water-based markers used can run if water drips on them. They have to use water-base ones because of the process used to transfer onto real pages. One more tip, write the story EXACTLY how your younger one tells it, it'll make for an extra special memory as they grow older. I do buy new ones every year for both of my children!

Our 8 year old son has written two books with illustory. The words that he writes are typed onto the pages (by the company)and the drawings he does come out beautiful in the book and on the cover. He is full of so much pride when he shows friends and family his publications! Everything you need to write and draw is provided in the product! We plan on having our son write a book each year - so he can see how much his writing changes year after year. The books are a great family keepsake. We love them!

My daughter felt she created something bigger than life. She learned what it was like to accomplish something. As a parent there is no better gift than something that is fun, educational and boost self confidence all at the same time for a child.

This product is my daughter's favorite toy. I would recomend it to any body who lve to write or just see thier work in print. It is like a real book. It shows what you have to do when you are making a book that you want to be published. My daughter always reads and reread you piece of work.

A friend was adopting a second child. As a gift to the older child, my 5 year old goddaughter and I collobrated on a story about being a big sister featuring the older child and introducing the new child. I wrote the story and outlined the pictures. My goddaughter colored the picutres. We had a lot of fun creating the story and pictures. Our little friend was so proud of the book that she took it for show and tell at her preschool and the book is displayed in the family's livingroom. We have another kit and are going to do another story for a different friend.

W O W. I am speechless with this amazing "toy", which is referred to in our house as miracle worker. We received the IlluStory as s gift for my 6 year-old on his birthday, and little did we know it would stick around an entire year and more! The Illustory seemed like a childish gift, but upon opening the attractive packaging, it was attached to my son for what seemed like the rest of his life. Together as a family, we created a story about my son Adam's first day of school. Then, we easily packaged it up in the included materials and sent it out to be published!!! In about 3 weeks we received the HARD BOUND book with a shiny cover. Creating the book truly helped my son build self-esteem, as he learned what it felt like to accomplish something, and he also built on his limited motor skills. IlluStory has become one of his favorites for over a year now, and we are planning on buying a new one this year, and also purchasing them as gifts. I would recommend this product to ALL children under the age of 12, and even some over that age. The Illustory can make wonders and will and makes a great gift for anyone. I absolutely loved this product. I bought this for my then 3rd grader who insisted he is going to be a writer and photographer. When it arrived I asked him who his first published work is going about and he said his teacher. He wrote and drew such a beautiful story about her that he gave it to her for Christmas and she cried. It really touched her heart. My child is now in 7th grade and this teacher still has the book on her desk and reads it to all of her students at the beginning of the year. My only regret was not ordering more of them. This is definitely a great item.

The product appeared to have been opened, returned, and then sent to me. The book is for VERY young hcildren, mainly to draw pictures. Haven't seen the finished product ("published" book), so that may be cool.

What a WONDERFUL product if you have a child with an imiganation!!! My 9 year old daughter is constantly writing stories, with this product, she not only gets to write a story, but illustrate it and have it bound like a REAL book. She loves the idea that she can buy extra books to give to her Grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. I think it'll be great to keep and show HER children many,many, many years form now! :)

My son received this for Christmas and he had such a great time writing his own story.Once he got the book returned to him he was amazed to see his own story turned into a real book!I highly recommend this to anyone of any age.I actually purchased another one and I wrote a story dedicated to my 2 boys!They will both now have something from me to pass on to thier kids someday!

My Daughter likes to write in journal, so when I saw this product on this website I thought it would be a great way to keep her intersted in writing. She love it! Every night she writes a page to a story she is making up. It keeps her mind ,handwriting,and imagination going.

My niece is enjoying making the book and looks forward to having it published. I am very disappointed in the delivery time, however. It was about a week late and I couldn't give it to her for Xmas and had to ship it to her later.

Bought 3 of this and the children are still working on them. Trying to do this without their parents knowlege. They are excited about it but don't get them long enough to finish the books.The children are 7, 8, and 10.

I initially found this product when I was looking for a birthday present for my 7 year old sister, but I have now purchased one for my 7 year old niece and 6 year old nephew as well. My friends have each asked me to give them the information, so they, too, could order one. The concept of this is truly unique - the child actually writes a book.
