    nice, light-weight external drive that "just works" (well). Just plug it into a USB port and XP detects it - NO driver installation required. I think this is the unit sold by Dell. `works great as an external DVD/CD drive for 'netbooks', that don't include a DVD/CD drive - to save weight.

    I purchased this drive as the only media source to load software onto a Dell Inspiron Mini 9 running Ubuntu 8.04. I connected the drive to a USB port and had immediate access to the drive. It's small footprint (just larger than a dvd) should make this a great complement to the netbook.
