This is my second G3010 Scanjet. I am very satisfied with both of them. It's a little loud when scanning but I don't know of any that aren't a little loud when scanning. It's a good buy for the price. Was this review helpful?

This is the 3rd scanner I've owned - so hookup was easy. This thing took 5 minutes to do the first scan. I only got about 4 other scans from the machine - each taking at least 5 minutes. I went to the HP website - did all the troubleshooting checks (problems with the USB communication), uninstalled, reinstalled (more than once), hooked it directly to the computer, hooked it into a USB powered (important) hub, etc. NOTHING WORKED. Had 1 HP scanner - loved it. Went to a Cannon canoscan - just OK - not nearly as easy to use as the original HP - so I went back to HP. THIS WAS NOT THE MODEL TO CHOOSE! PIECE OF JUNK!!! Since I'm stuck with it now - perhaps someone knows how to get this thing to work! Was this review helpful?

This scanner is great for the little amount of money. The hookup is very easy, just 2 cords and you will be scanning soon. It has ability to do slides or negatives which comes in very handy if you don't have prints. It also can scan prints which come out pretty clear.
The only flaw I can see is that it seems to take a long time to actually scan. I had a HP all in one scanner prior to this one and it scanned faster.
Overall though, it really does everyhing you need, even documents with ease and for the money (under $100) is great. Was this review helpful?

Thus far this machine has exceeded my expectations. It was easy to install using the included software and all necessary cables. The Buy.Com delivery service was nothing short of phenomenal. I chose the offered free budget shipping that suggested delivery would take five to nine days. It was delivered to my door on the third day. For this to happen I calculate that it must have been shipped the day I placed my order a first in my online purchasing experience.

I have had a very difficult time getting this scanner to work with Windows Vista despite HP sending Vista Drivers. The HP Software can not communicate with the scanner( consistent error messages), even though other software ( Adobe PhotoShop ) can communicate via WIA and scan in documents/pictures. I have been trying to work with HP Support but the only suggestions that I have received is uninstall and reinstall the software which I have done countless times with no success. Even after and 1 hour and a 1/2 with tech support on the phone they could not finger out what was going on. I ran a HP diagnostic and sent it to them and they said they would get back to me in a day or so and it has now been 3 days and still no answer. Was this review helpful?

I forgot to add to my review that Buy.Com also did one heck of a job of getting this item into my hands, I ordered it Sunday ad 6:30 pm and received it at 5:00pm Tuesday.
