I got this to replace an aging Canon i950 which was not worth repairing. It is faster for everyday text and general printing, and just as acceptable quality wise, too. The photo printing is acceptable however all should know that you can save $ and get better results from an online or store based photo service. I have not yet used the disc printing feature yet. From what I read it is comparable, quality wise to the Epson's older series and the provided HP software interface is clunky, to be expected. I am still getting used to the HP interface as the Canon was my mainstay for years. All in all a great printer for under $100.00! Was this review helpful?

I purchased this printer after noticing that it was available at a great price and that it was capable of printing blank CD/DVD media. It prints both black & white and color on paper very nicely but I have yet to master printing on CD/DVD’s. It is not easy to center the print on the media and the newly printed CD/DVD’s emerge with white lines on them.
Overall, it is a good product and it was shipped very quickly. My experience with Buy.com has been very positive.

This printer works well and plugs and plays no problem. However, the HP printing software is extremely clunky and printer software doesn't allow you to print other than at "best" quality which dumps too much ink onto the printable cd/dvd. Was this review helpful?

Well, so far, this looks like it's a great little printer, and quite a step up from my previous HP printer!
I like three features I never had before. One, is the fact paper can be stocked intelligently in a tray, instead of having the pages c*cked at 75 degrees in a feeder that gets knocked about when I roll the printer under my PC table. The second, is where I can now print 4" x 6" photos directly, without using a whole 8.5x11 page. And third, I can print directly onto DVD labels!
One note about the DVDs is that I tried printing onto the disc itself, but the ink never dried! So, obviously, you have to buy some blank DVD/CD labels to print on. What's cool, though, is you put the label on the disk *first* and then print directly onto the label (you place the DVD/CD disk onto a feeder in the printer!!). Was this review helpful?

This is a very good printer, I have printed over 50 disc with it so far, It HAS Not scratched even 1 disc. As far as disc printing is concerned (all I use it for) Its ink usage doesn't seem to be as miserly as my Epson but that could be because the cartridges are smaller (and cost less). I use the Acoustica CD/dvd label program with it and it works great together and is a very economical program (Hp should send this printer with that software, together they would rule the dvd labeling marketplace).It looks,feels and performs like a High quality printer should. YES, I would buy it again and I would get it from Buy.com. Was this review helpful?
