2 of 5 Urg - What a P.I. A. Tuesday, June 30, 2009
A Customer from Los Angeles, CA

I really was hoping for something special. Instead it is just another crappy multi-function printer.

5 of 5 Works great for the price! Thursday, May 28, 2009
Mr. Ed from Vacaville, CA
It works well for general home use. I didn't have any problems setting it up, even though the wireless was a few extra steps. I do like that it can wok both wired or wireless without making any changes to it. I've used it to copy, fax and scan with only minor issues with the software (it takes a bit to figure out how to use it). It's not really fast but it is good!

5 of 5 Great price, great all in one printer Saturday, May 23, 2009
Jen from Glendale Heights, IL
This printer does it all. My daughters and I have already used the copier, scanner, and printer. I love the way it scans and have dreams of keeping all my bills online! I haven't tried the wireless function yet, so am unsure how quick it will be to set up, but everything else was easy. The only warning I have is that I appear to be going through ink VERY quickly. However, I'm not sure yet because it depends on how accurate the HP sensors are. Overall, an amazing buy for a home office.

4 of 5 Awesome Product @ awesome price Tuesday, May 12, 2009
A Customer from Merrillville, IN
As far as AIOs go, the HP J6480 is great for home and small office use, though it consumes so much ink. I guess that is the basic challenge with all officejets. There was the initial challenge of setting up the wireless connection for everybody at home, but once I figured out how to do it... it has been fun and convenient.

5 of 5 HP Officejet J6480 All-In-One Sunday, May 10, 2009
Millard Clemmons from Midlothian, Virginia
Great Product! Had some minor problems with setup like most other buyers but it was mostly not understanding the directions. Program the printer first as others have suggested. Highly recommend to purchase from Buy.com. They ship fast and are bending over backwards to earn ones business. Give them a try and I don't think you will be disappoined with their service. Don't know how Buy.com can sell for there listed prices!

4 of 5 Great wireless printer for the price Monday, May 04, 2009
cobuckman from CO
I bought this printer to have the ability to easily print from any of the four laptops in the home. Easy setup and worked directly out of the box. Device sits in an easily accessible location completely removed from computer locations. Love it! Making sure it linked at 'g' versus 'b' was not apparent so play close attention with initial setup. Double sided printing is a snap but slow as the ink has to dry prior to printing opposite side. Highly recommend this printer as an inexpensive wireless solution.

5 of 5 A bargain at this price Sunday, April 26, 2009
D K from Lakewood, Colorado
I researched available printers fairly well before deciding on this one. Initially I went to E-bay to get a bargain. After losing a few auctions I decided to look elsewhere on the web to find a good price. The BUY.COM price was considerably better than all but one of the auctions I monitored on E-bay!!! (It was still better than the one remaining, just not by a lot!) If my old printer had not died, I wouldn't have bought a new one as I'm currently unemployed and looking. Since I am, I opted for free shipping to be as cheap as I could be. My printer still arrived fairly quickly. The only way I could be happier with the deal would be if it were free. (As to the ratings on a scale of 1 to 5, I would rate the value a 7 if I could.)

4 of 5 Good value for the $$ Sunday, March 08, 2009
John from Roseville, CA
I've only had the printer for a few weeks, but so far it has performed pretty much as advertised. Print quality is good so far - but haven't printed any pics out yet. My only issue so far is that scanning wirelessly must be initiated from the printer. I attempted to open the HP Device manager on the computer and request a scan. That didn't work, so I iniated it from the printer with no problems.

5 of 5 Fantastic HP Product! Sunday, March 08, 2009
Shawn F. from Thorofare, NJ
Another quality product from HP! This works perfectly with my Vista-based computer. The wi-fi is fantastic. My wife uses her Mac Book through the wi-fi network without any problems at all. It's a great printer, fax machine, copier and scanner. I couldn't be more satisfied with my purchase and I would recommend it to anyone.

5 of 5 Great Printer Fantastic Price Sunday, March 08, 2009
A Customer from Naperville, IL
This was a great deal for $75. I chose the free shipping and it still came FedEx in 2 days. The printer works really well. The scanner is a little slow over wireless, but for the price it works fine. I basically bought this because my wife needed a copier. The copier works really well in both color and B&W. The automatic duplex printing is a nice extra too. All in all a great printer and a great price. Setup was easy. I would recommend.

5 of 5 Impressive Printer Saturday, March 07, 2009
Brad from Provo, Utah
I've had this printer for a couple weeks now, and I absolutely love it! I keep telling my friends about my "new toy." What I like most about it (so far) is the wireless printing, which was super easy to configure. It is DHCP enabled so that it is automatically assigned an IP address by the router and requires very little effort to set up. The next greatest thing is the two-sided printing! It takes a lot longer to print two-sided, but it is well worth the wait! Great printer. I highly recommend it!

5 of 5 Great Home printer Saturday, March 07, 2009
YP Lau from Lynchburg, VA
Ordered this on Monday and received it on Wednesday evening. Buy.com delivers! HP makes great printers and this is no exception. It came with everything needed to get going(including USB cable). Setting up was not difficult: once the printer was put together and the software installed on my laptop, I turned it on and it picked up my home wifi. With the USB cable, I could initially to setup the printer with the appropriate WEP key. After that I installed the s/w on the other machines around the house, all XP and Vista machines. Everything was fine at first but soon printer began to hang up, one pc would not be detected or scan could not work. Figuring that there may be updates that fixed these issues, I got the installed printer software to look for updates online(command found under the Help tab). Sure enough, updating the software resolved the problems. The network is now stable and over the weeks its has been setup, PCs can go on and off the network without detection or functional problems. So, my advice is to install from the CD and go online for updates asap. Performance: Printouts are crisp and colors are beautiful as expected. As I print mostly b&w text I set it to fast draft which literally spits out the page before I even reach the printer. Text is still crisp although the colors are washed out in draft mode. The software provided great, as it allows you to scan, download pictures and send faxes to/from any pc on the wifi network. Practically though, for these tasks it better to use the USB hookup. Scanning and downloading pictures is painfully slow over wifi and you'd have to be at the printer anyway for these tasks. So far I am extremely happy with the printer and how anyone in the house and simply print to it and then stroll over to retrieve their printouts or scan a document to their pc in another room. Lots of other features to play with that I had not had the time or reason to get into. Perhaps I will post an update later if significant issues arises. For now, 5 stars!!!

5 of 5 Excellent All-In-One Printer from HP Saturday, March 07, 2009
Charlie from Piscataway, NJ
Out of the box the printer was very easy to setup. I like the fact that it is wireless which is the primary reason I bought it. I am not a big fan of all-in-ones but my wife loves it for her work. It connects easily to Vista as well as Windows 7 beta (although the software that comes with it, understandably, knows nothing about Windows 7 and won't install (at this time)). The scanning feature took a little time to get used do but the printing capabilities (it is an HP after all) and the copy facility is great. Haven't used the fax feature yet but its nice to know it is there. One more thing: got it the next day with budget shipping from Buy.com. Can't beat that!!!

5 of 5 Great product - great delivery Saturday, March 07, 2009
A Customer from East Hampton, NY
This printer worked right out of the box and the wireless function makes it easy to share with different computers. I use it with one Vista and one XP. I haven't used the fax function, but it is well worth the money for a printer and copier. Delivery was unbelievable - free shipping. I ordered on a Monday and it arrived the next day!

4 of 5 Small Footprint All-in-One Give Big Performance Saturday, March 07, 2009
Mark Geduldig-Yatrofsky from Portsmouth, VA
This home-office inkjet all-in-one is an amazing value for the price. In my workspace it replaced an HP 7310, which was connected to my home network by ethernet cable. The OJ6480 is networked wirelessly, so my laptops can print to it remotely. My only quibbles with this machine: it does not do automatic double-sided scans, and the built-in flatbed scanner does not accommodate legal sized originals. On the other hand, the scanning software prompts the user before closing out a scan to permit appending additional pages. Also, the scanner sheet feeder will accept legal sized originals and render them as such in the output image. Overall, it is a highly capable machine, ties up much less office space than its predecessor, and was attractively priced. Unlike an earlier reviewer, I experienced no difficulties setting up the software on my Vista Home Premium desktop.

5 of 5 buttons buttons everywhere Saturday, March 07, 2009
A Customer from Portland Michigan
this is a excellent printer, but so many buttons! takes up a fair amount of space, but considering all that it does it's not that much. great colors, laser like black and white, prints incredibly fast, double sided printing saves paper not ink. it was easy to setup. Lots of buttons. It was selling for $199 at staples when I bought her at $74. You can't go wrong. 15 minutes out of the box and it was printing.

5 of 5 Exceptional All-in-One Saturday, March 07, 2009
Bob from Schenectady, NY
I was very pleased with how easy it was to setup this printer on my wireless LAN. I took the advice of other reviewers and downloaded the software and drivers from HP's site. The printer was added to my system without all of the usual hassles of added a device to my wireless system. I was very impressed with the ease of setup. I checked it's fax capability and the ability to scan photographs and all worked well. Of course, it also prints!

4 of 5 Happy with the decision Wednesday, March 04, 2009
sat from Dallas, TX
The printer for the price i got it($75), is amazing. It has all the features i was looking for in an AOP: Wireless, dual printing, auto feed, re-size, OCR(software), fax memory. I had no issues configuring it for my XP(SP2) laptop and desktop. Getting it to configure for FAX was a breeze(with my landline). After the initial catridge alignment i configured the whole printing process via wireless(FiOS). The only glitch i faced was with the CD. It just did not work(and hung my explorer), and so i downloaded the latest drivers from HP website. So far(over 2 weeks) the printer has been performing fine.

4 of 5 Great value, really slow copying Wednesday, March 04, 2009
A Customer from Providence, RI
This is a great value. No problems setting it up in a small office and getting scanning/printing working with all Vista PCs. Scanning functionality is very intuitive for end users to figure out. Copying more than one page at a time is very slow. It took a good 5-10 minutes to copy a 10-15 page document. However it was only $75 so you get what you pay for in that regard. Might be better off scanning to PDF then printing the pdf to a faster printer than trying to copy.

4 of 5 Awesome if you can install Saturday, February 28, 2009
Shaywood from Portland, OR
The printer is a terrific value if you can figure out how to install it. The software is straight forward, but Vista (on my computer) did not want to co-operate. After initial installation of the software the printer would not respond half the time I attempted to scan or communicate with the printer (or visa-versa). After a lot of Internet searching I found some support information from HP. The key is making the correct adjustments to Windows Vista firewall. After making the correct adjustments the printer works very well!

5 of 5 Great Features - Great Buy! Tuesday, February 24, 2009
Teresa from Destin, FL
Followed directions and had wireless and fax operable within 15 minutes. Setup found my wireless immediately. So easy to operate. Had a little trouble installing ink cartridges which was minor. Had researched prices, features and reviews and found this printer offered the most features for the money. Am so very pleased with my purchase. As others have noted - don't blame the printer if you just don't know what you're doing! Setup is fast and simple.

5 of 5 Great printer for the money. Saturday, February 21, 2009
Marco from Miami, Florida
Was not sure if it would be a good purchase after reading the reviews, but took my chances. Very happy I did. There were a lot of negative responds regarding setup and software. Setup turned out to be a breeze. Just followed the instructions and was up and running within 30 minutes after receiving the package. I run the printer wireless under Windows XP, no problems. Problems seem to be more Vista than Hp, like usual.

5 of 5 Outstand Value / Outstanding Printer Saturday, February 21, 2009
budpayne from Schertz, TX
I almost bought this printer at Costco a week ago for $159.00+ tax. $74.00 in the door from Buy.com, WHEW...glad I waited. I connected wirelessly / effortlessly to my XP laptop and new Vista without a hitch. I am a Regular Joe all self taught and I had NO PROBLEM whatsoever. I can't imagine anyone having anything bad to say about this printer.

5 of 5 Buy this baby now! Wednesday, February 18, 2009
A Customer from Stafford, VA
Bought this printer at Buy.com for $74.99 brand new in retail box. It took me only 10 minutes to install the wireless feature. The installation CD does everything. Very easy and simple. Just follow the instruction on screen. Even a baby can install this wireless printer. It is a nice printer that has everything that I ask for. I like the duplex feature on this printer. Now you can print on both faces of a paper. The copier is very nice and very fast. I like it very much since the only wire that need to plug in is the power supply cable. I hook up 3 computers with this wireless printer and they all work like a charm. For those who don't know how to install and configure a wireless printer, please buy a wire printer. Please don't write a bad review when you don't know how to work the wireless printer. The text and graphic are printed and photocopied very nice and very sharp on this printer. Buy this baby and you won't regret. CNET gave this baby 4 out of 5, which is excellent. Please do read the rating from the expert or someone who knows how to use the product.

5 of 5 easy install- good quality Friday, January 02, 2009
A Customer from Philadelphia, PA
I found this printer to be easy to install and easy to use. Documentation was good. I've had other printers, particularily Brother, that were faster printers for simple, text documents. A bit slow for text is my only negative.

1 of 5 If it Worked it Might Be Nice Friday, December 12, 2008
Chris from Laurel, MD
I've used HP printers for decades, but after this debacle, never again and I'll be ensuring others know about this problem child. Got the printer, looked good and all parts were available. After two weeks, only one computer on my wireless network was able to load the drivers and connect. These were the basic drivers, no frills. I was not able to connect, either wireless or USB to my main computer, nor any other wireless connect computer, no matter which driver versions I tried as the install ALWAYS got stuck. I ran all of the suggested workarounds found in numerous forums, ran the workarounds from HP and just about gave up. As a test, I ensured everything on my system was in pristine condition for loading the software. Set it for USB with a brand new USB cable, started the install and let it run. After 37 hours the install was 23% done on part 2 of five parts. I then gave up. I was replacing an elderly HP K60XI but ended up RMA with Buy.com. I then bought an Epson 600 which took all of 11 minutes to fully install, including going and getting coffee.

5 of 5 Super easy set up and quality printing. Wednesday, July 09, 2008
A Customer from the High Desert in Arizona
Some reviewers said that this printer was somewhere between difficult and nightmare to set up. My experience was; load the CD, tap a couple of keys and start printing and I'm a 63 year old retiree, not a computer nerd. I set it up to run wireless on my Dell desk top and Compaq laptop. From unpack to print was less than 30 minutes. Print quality is very good. At the lowest quality setting, to conserve ink, it far outperforms the Lexmark it replaced. Scan, copy and fax functions are easy to use and the control panel is well arranged and intuitive. All in all it is a great value for the money. I don't work it too hard but I'm sure this printer will perform well in any environment from home use to an office/small business.
