5 of 5 Worth the money Thursday, November 29, 2007
Dan from Superior, CO

This is the second 3050 I've purchased. The first one for my office and the second for home. Both have worked well. Printing, faxing and scanning are all rock solid. Scanning is easy to use and installation is easy if you have the right drivers.

4 of 5 Great all-in-one Tuesday, June 12, 2007
John Kwan from Santa Clara, CA
We use this All-In-One every day at www.VeriPic.com. Overall the system is fast and relatively easy to use. The user menus could use some improvement though as a few of our employees had some trouble with the settings. One feature that would have been nice would be to have a flatbed scanner for the copy function. The way the system is currently you have to use the automatic feeder that only accepts flat sheets so if you have something not flat you would have to get another all-in-one that has a flatbed scanner. This was a deficiency we were not aware of at the time of purchase because the description wasn't clear that there was a limit to what can be coppied.

5 of 5 Great All In One Saturday, March 17, 2007
Mike from Troy, MI
Bought the HP3050 when HP had 50% rebates, and I love the unit so the value is off the charts. I use it mostly to print and fax, but the scanner and specifically the scan to PDF work flawlessly. I just finished scanning all of my letter sized tax documents. I used my flatbed for the smaller receipts and canceled checks, but could have used the HP3050 (after I finished scanning, I scanned a single check to test it and it fed and scanned perfectly). The document feeder hasn't jammed on me yet. I've also found that it scans straighter than the HP3055 in our office (a flatbed with an ADF which always turns the scan 5 or so degrees). The only con is that the printer and computer lose communications with each other periodically and I get a "Document Failed to Print Error". The fix is simple.. Power the HP3050 off then back on again. It gets annoying, but I can't really pin it on the all-in-one. It may also be a conflict or configuration issue on my PC. I highly recommend this unit. Especially when on sale or with rebates.

5 of 5 Wow Tuesday, February 20, 2007
A Customer from Sewickley, PA
It will take a little time to grow into this, but so far I am very pleased. While I am still somewhat in love with my old Brother HL-1040, this is every bit as good without the power drain the Brother was. It's fast and relatively quiet. This is also my first scanner so that's a nice bonus, and the free OCR software--well, I feel like I have a James Bond gadget. I have not faxed and copied so far, but expect that will go without a hitch. I hope it will be as resilient as the Brother, which lasted 8 years and was trouble free. I have not been able to use the scan button on the actual unit. The documentation slightly falls short, but I am not completely lost.

4 of 5 A Printer with Class Sunday, February 11, 2007
A Customer from Everett PA
This printer has thus far exceeded my expectations. It is stylish, quiet and provides more than adequate print quality for the price. I would suggest not installing the scan software and only using the auto-detect function of your operating system. Installing the software makes direct scanning a bit more cumbersome. I look forward to seeing if it actually prints 7,000 pages before needing a cartridge refill. If you are in the market for an affordable laser printer--buy it. At the time of purchase, Buy.com was the cheapest place I found it, as they didn't charge for shipping and there was a rebate on the Web to cover the cost difference!

5 of 5 HP Does it again Thursday, November 30, 2006
Nat Yong from Dallas, TX
I got this printer when it first came out a month ago. HP Rebate of 1/2 off made this one of my best purchases of the year. Power requirements are low so sensitive electronic devices aren't bothered. It certainly isn't the quietest printer, but it isn't too loud. Very little page curl and can handle heavy-duty card stock. A friend did her wedding invitations on it. Up to 18 ppm seemed slower, but it really does print at that speed. One page print jobs take 8 seconds from mouse click to page in hand. Copies are done in same time. Cartridges supplied was full and not a starter cartridge. I highly recommend this MFC.

5 of 5 Fast, high-quality printing Tuesday, October 31, 2006
A Customer from Layton, UT
I've been using the Samsung CLP-500 as my main printer for quite some time, so when I off-loaded my monochrome printing load to my new HP LJ 3050 I was pleasantly surprised when my 3-page print job finished in less than ten seconds after I clicked on the 'Print' icon in Microsoft Word. Not only that, but the print job was great quality, too. I upped the resolution from the 'Quick Print' setting the printer defaulted to and though it did print noticably slower, the quality was about the same. The speed that it scans and copies is also very quick. And while I use the standalone fax feature more often than not, using the fax through the computer is oh-so-nice (since you print to the fax just like the printer). The OCR included with the scanner is also a low-cost (free) alternative to OmniPage Pro (which I do own) that is included with the scanner and has excellent learning features. All-in-all, I'm very impressed with yet another awesome printer from HP.
