0 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 3 of 5 A lot of old movies, some in color Thursday, November 29, 2007 Woody from Cincinnati, OH
The movie pack contains a lot of old movies, mostly in B&W with a few in color, which was expected. Most are just unwatchable as we are now programmed for flashy dialog and special effects. Even titles that I remember were painful to watch as I am not a sappy "historical and sentimental of the times" movie goer. Quality of the films were very good as the restoration efforts paid off. Each movie is on one side of a disc with two movies in each of the 25 cardboard sleeves. Packaging was actually minimal but appreciated as the sleeves contain a summary of the movies and the box they come in is only about 1 1/2" thick and the height of a traditional DVD case. For less than $20 to own a piece of history this buy is a must, however do not expect yourself to try and actually watch all 50 movies. During the period these actually were released, I am confident they were works of art. Today they are sadly on par with a children's school play with props even less sophisticated. You will find 6-7 watchable and the rest just mentally challenging to stay awake. Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Horror Movies ??? Thursday, November 29, 2007 Redstar4 from Croton-on-Hudson, NY
There weren't many "Horror Movies" in this 50 pack collection. Some good early classics but predominantly "B" films. However, those B's are fun to watch just don't be looking for monster movies - No Frankenstein, Dracula, Wolfman or Mummy films. Was this review helpful?
