We have been very pleased with this Hoover upright carpet cleaner. I have rented and owned carpet cleaners in the past. This product exceeded my expectations. It is easier to use than a canister, cleans well with the brushes and dries quickly. I only used about 60% of the recommended cleaning solution and it worked great. The only downside is the attachment hose could be longer to clean steps easier. It still cleaned the steps but had to put this pretty heavy unit at the top and bottom of the steps to do the job. I would certainly still highly recommend this product. I do wish they would have included the hard floor attachment with the unit. I used it without it on a tile floor and it did an "ok" job. If you need a carpet cleaner, get this one!

I had an older generation of Hoover Steamvac for 12 years. Finally, all the valves deteriorated beyond repair. Before purchasing this new Hoover, I looked around for different designs and still liked Hoover the best. The new generation is even cheaper than the price I paid for the older one with improved performance and ergonomics. I am generally satisfied. The only thing that I think could be better is the water heating feature. I really like the water hot (there has be a reason to call it "steam"vac) to remove the dirt. I wish that there were a heating element right around the nozzle to give the water temperature a good boost.
