| | | The immortal Jackie Gleason stars in The Honeymooners, with beloved sidekicks Art Carney, Audrey Meadows and Joyce Randolph. Features: DVD, Dolby, Digital Audio, English, Spanish Since its premiere on October 1, 1955, The Honeymooners has established itself as a cornerstone of American television. Amazing...considering that only 39 full-length classic episodes were filmed, all included in this collection! The brilliant and hilarious interplay between Ralph, Alice, Ed and Trixie set the tone for countless situation comedies through the years, but none have quite captured the sheer magic of the Kramdens and the Nortons struggling to carve out their piece of the American Dream in Brooklyn. This comprehensive DVD collection is an everlasting monument to one of the funniest and most enduring TV shows of all time.
 Editor's Note
Although it only aired for one season, The Honeymooners remains one of the funniest and most beloved TV shows of all time. Its brilliant comic interplay has influenced television comedy throughout the years, and its trademark one-liners have carved out a permanent spot in American pop culture ("one of these days, Alice!"). This collection includes every episode from its sadly limited 1955-56 run--a total of 39 episodes, affectionately known as the "classic 39." Rediscover the magic and hilarity as Brooklyn bus driver Ralph Kramden (Jackie Gleason) trades barbs with his feisty wife Alice (Audrey Meadows) and plans get-rich-quick-schemes with his upstairs neighbor Ed Norton (Art Carney).

5 of 5 Bought as a gift for a friend. Monday, February 09, 2009 Larry Griffey from Oxford, Alabama
I gave this DVD as a gift to my friend. He told me that there was not to much you could watch on TV with no profanity in them. He said he liked old TV shows like the Honeymooners. So I suprized him with this copy. He said that it was great and brought back good memories. He has really enjoyed his DVD. He said he laughed until he hurt. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 The Honeymooners Classics will send u to the Moon! Sunday, February 01, 2009 A Viewer from Shrewsbury, NJ
Everything about these DVD's is exceptional - not to mention that I am a big fan. Delivery was quick and packaging was perfect. I am satisfied with this purchase and will probably be back for more. Being a huge fan of the old cinematography I can't complain. Maybe people won't appreciate that aspect, but I do. Thanks for keeping it real! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 One of these days, Alice... POW! To the moon! Friday, August 01, 2008 Mark from Bartlesville, OK
"The Great One" and all the classics from the short-lived Honeymooners, are still refreshing. As a pastor, I am using several of them for illustrations. The episode "TV or not TV" begins with a great lesson on buying on credit. "The Golfer" has a great lesson on controlling your tongue. "Phony Money" is a funny lesson on personal ethics. Almost every episode has a moral lesson which can be utilized for a Bible study. Meanwhile, we get to laugh and laugh.
It is great to see some of the gags Gleason and Co. used throughout the series: Norton's huge sandwiches, Alice's cold stare, Ralph's girth, Norton's job... all used in impecable taste and graciousness.
The Honeymooners is one of TV's classic shows. All of it done on stage from Miami, Fla.
I gave the cinematography a 3. Great classic TV usually doesn't have great cinematography. If it wasn't for Desi Arnaz's innovative "three camera" studio recording techniques, The Honeymooners probably wouldn't have been even a 3 on cinematography.
If you are a fan of classic TV - The Golden Years... you'll love The Honeymooners! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Timeless & Hilarious Comedy! Classic! Sunday, March 25, 2007 Jimmy The Kid from Greenwood, IN
I hadn't seen THE HONEYMOONERS on television for some time. I've fond memories of watching this show back in the early 80s while in college in New York City when it was in regular syndication on WNEW I think. Since then I've seen it on TV Land again but not for a few years now and no other network has picked it up. What a joy to have this DVD collection in my posseession! After watching the first episode I was hooked again. This DVD collection has the best quality video & audio presentation I've ever seen for this show considering its age (kinescope). The comedy is ageless though, and hilarious. It holds up as well today as it ever did. A true television and comedy classic if there ever were one! Buy it today! Highly Recommended!!!
