 Editor's Note
Alice Faye stars as Molly Adair, a talented singer toiling away as an understudy on Broadway before powerful Hollywood filmmaker Michael Linett Connors discovers her and promptly turns her into a star in 1913. The producer and actress fall in love with one another, but things turn sour when they misinterpret each other's feelings and Molly, thinking Michael only sees her as a professional cash cow, marries her leading man (Alan Curtis). After a jealous Michael fires Molly in her prime, in turn endangering his own career during the transition from the silent era to the talkies, what will it take for these two crazy kids to make it work? Buster Keaton co-stars in this romantic comedy-drama notable for being the first movie to use both black-and-white and color film stocks.
