Hitachi introduced the World?s first DVD Camcorder in 1999. Yearly refinements have improved image quality, ease of use and design. This trend continues with the 7th generation of Hitachi DVD Camcorders.

The DZGX5080A is the only DVD Camcorder in the line with a built-in LED light. Ensuring proper illumination even in the darkest environments. Also included with this model is USB 2.0 connectivity with PC and Mac software support.

Ease of use is taken to a whole new level with features like Photo Frame Capture and 1-Second Quick Start. Photo Capture allows users to browse video scenes and choose individual frames to save as digital stills to SD card. 1-second quick start makes recording nearly instantaneous when powering up from sleep mode.

4-Format DVD compatibility a powerful 30X optical zoom and a 2.7? widescreen LCD display complete a robust feature package.

I have a digital camera, but wanted a camcorder that recorded on CD's. The great thing about this one is that it takes both still pictures (with a memory card) and videos. It is easy to use and works great!

I was looking for an inexpensive digital camcorder for making low-budget recordings for performance demos. I shopped a lot of online searches for digital cameras and couldn't find a good quality/brand of camcorder under $200.00 that had the features I was looking for. It was nice to finally find one through buy.com. I found a brand I felt I could trust, which had all the features I needed and for about $180.00 from Big City Direct. I received the camcorder within the time frame that they stated and in very good condition. The camcorder was used almost immediately after I got it and it has worked great since.

I was very impressed when I started to use this camera. I does a lot for the value. It records directly to a dvd or it take photos on an sd card. You can also take a photo from the videos that are on the dvd. I love it. The way that the handle is set up you can work the controls with one hand and have the other hand free. I am so glad that a bought this product.
