HIGHLANDER is the story of Duncan MacLeod, clansman of Connor, who is part of an immortal race of warriors. Having lived through five centuries, wandering the Earth while taking the head and subsequently the life force of any other immortal to challenge him, Duncan's ultimate goal was to find and kill Kurgan, his sworn enemy. Now living in the late part of the 20th century, Duncan's mission is simply to prevent any immortal from acquiring "The Prize", an object of power that will give any immortal who possesses it the power to control the world. Adrian Paul is such a wonderful actor! He can do so much. Although Duncan us usually a very serious character, he can still let loose! I love being able to watch and re-watch this season! The DVD set is wonderful to own! The extras are so much fun! This is a must for everyone who likes to be entertained! Was this review helpful?

I completely enjoyed the first movie, but was disapointed when the sequels had weak story elements, poor supporting actors and at times, contradictory storylines.
The Highlander TV series outshined the sequels and remained true to the original movie (with only one notable exception). Acting was excellent, the characters believable (except for some of the villians).
In my opinion, the TV series outshined the original movie, if for no other reason than the screen time devoted to getting to know the characters. While the show dealt with death a great deal, and kill or be killed was the immortal way of life, not all the shows ended with this conclusion.
While season 1 may be a bit riske' for some viewers and some characters do not truely get developed until season 2-3, this is an excellent purchase. Those who wish to have a good taste of what this series is all about should wait for season 2 or 3. However, without season 1, later seasons may not make sense in certian scenes as to the 'big' picture. Was this review helpful?

Highlander movies have always been good (maybe not Endgame) However if possible the TV show has surpassed the movies. The first season is well done, leaving you to dream what it would be like to be Imortal. Duncan MaCloud of the Klan MaCloud (Adrian Paul)make's this Series a true masterpeice. Highly underrated as a show, the acting is top notch. The storylines are well thought out and inventive. This is worth the money! Was this review helpful?
