5 of 5 Nice Set of Cans Friday, July 03, 2009 A Customer from LA, CA
The sound imaging on the AH-D2000 is insane. Running them with a Creative Elite Pro card on my x64 and the sound separation and nuance just rocks. Great price and merchant to boot. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Awesome Sound Wednesday, September 17, 2008 A Customer from San Francisco, CA
These denons sound incredible, especially when connected to a headphone amp. Bass is perfectly balanced while the mid and upper ranges are sweet and detailed without being too bright or harsh. These phones sound decent when plugged directly into an ipod but really shine if you add in any kind of headphone amp. My headphone amp is a relatively cheap Gem sound DAC which I previously only used to digitize my vinyl. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Most enjoyable headphone ever Wednesday, September 03, 2008 SC from Fremont, CA
I got my new Denon AH-D2000 headphones today and since I started using them more than 4 hours ago, I have not been able to stop listening to music, except for a bio break.
So how good are these cans?
To give a sense of perspective let me say that I never felt this way with any of the other headphones that I own: Grado RS-1, AKG K701, BeyerDynamic DT990-PRO, Sennheiser PX100 & PX200, and Shure E3C. I have several headphone amplifiers and all of them sound great with the AH-D2000 headphones. Sure I can hear differences with each amp but the main impression is that I enjoyed each amp because of their differences instead of thinking "this amp works better with these headphones better than that one". The amps that I use are: RSA Hornet, Meier HA2 MKII SE and HeadRoom Supreme. And keep in mind that these new headphones are not even close to be "broken-in" and I am already enjoying these babies so much. I'm sure that they will continue to improve, I can't wait until they sound their best. Hold on, correction, I don't have to wait 'cause, this is one of those trips that can be enjoyed as much as getting to the end for the "prize".
Best personal entertainment "investment" that I have ever made. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 absolute steal Monday, May 19, 2008 sonni san from cleveland, ohio
this product is at the top of the line audiophile level. it takes a few weeks to break in (for the diaphragms to settle, etc, etc); once they do, they sound clearly more defined than any of the $100 range headphones i've used. i understand that it will have to be paired up with an amplifier to experience it's full capabilities; im saving up for that, however, the sound is still fantastic. the cable is sleeved with cloth and the leather padding is really comfortable. the only thing i dislike about it (and almost all high-end heaphones) is that it really does need an amplifier (which are costly if getting good ones) to hear its true quality.
