Tomboy Lam (Anita Yuen in a performance that won her the Best Actress award at the 1995 Hong Kong Film Awards) is so obsessed with pop music diva Rose (Carina Lau) that she decides to disguise as a man to meet her idol at a singing audition. There, Lam meets Sam (Cheung), Rose's producer-boyfriend who signs the talentless "boy" to a recording contract to spite his moody girlfriend. It doesn't take long before Rose--and Sam--find themselves both falling for Lam!
