While David Darling's "Bach's Persia" is a somewhat conventional new age piece combining vaguely Middle Eastern scents with synthesizers and traditional percussion, Russill Paul's "Om Namah Shivaaya" is a Tantric chant augmented with ethnic flute and its own synth washes. Other standout moments include the haunting woodwinds of Sudhir Jonathan Foust's "A Touch of Grace" and a hopeful, buoyant Joseph Nagler composition entitled "Here, Now." ~ Johnny Loftus |
