| | | The Hawking HPS1P 10/100M Internet Print Server is a powerful and convenient tool to connectyour parallel printer to a 10/100M Network. Use the HPS1P instead of a dedicated computer to bethe main contact point for all of your network printing requests. With the HPS1P and InternetPrinting Protocol technology, printing over a WAN or the Internet becomes much easier. You cansend a print job to a printer in another country just as easily as sending a print job to your home oroffice printer. IPP eliminates the need for fax communications between offices. Simply print anoriginal document through the HPS1P''s IPP capabilities and send it from one office to another. Theprint quality from IPP printing is equal to that of a document printed from your local office. Withthe HPS1P, your printer becomes a fully functional network print station.

Works well for anyone that needs to connect a parallel printer to an Ethernet network. Easy to setup and configure. Point the client computer to the device's IP address, load the driver and go. I have 20 or so installed in various locations and all have been trouble free. Great value for the price. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Awesome! Thursday, January 27, 2005 Justin T. from Chicago. IL
I have used MANY of these small form factor print servers for customers. The Hawking was easier, cleaner and faster to setup by miles. It's even fast connected to an adapter which in turn is connected to the network shared printer.
Highly recommend. Excellent value. Was this review helpful?

I installed this item in a mixed networking environment with Red Hat Linux and Windows 2000 Professional. It took only 5 minutes to set up the print server. It worked great! Will recommend this buy to anyone.. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great and very handy unit Sunday, November 14, 2004 A Customer from Hilliard, OH
Although their documentation is thin, this unit was very easy to setup and use under linux and Windows 2000. For anyone who wants to move an old parallel printer onto their home network, this unit does the job.
I was very please with the performance and setup time. Since I have two printers, I ended up getting the USB version too (which works just as good).
For you linux users. Nothing needs to be installed. Using CUPS printing, just point IPP to the IP address/lp1, select your print driver, and save. Your test page will come out. This was done using RH 8.0/9.0 and FC1, FC2 Was this review helpful?
