4 of 5 Expected more - but it will do Wednesday, June 20, 2007 A customer from New Jersey
It did boost the signal from none to low. The distance is not far but the signal must travel thru lath & plaster walls. I do get a signal, I can do my work, that's all that matters. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Upgrade Wednesday, February 14, 2007 wsimonis from Oconomowoc, Wisconsin
A cheap and easy way to get my computer to go from low reception to good or very good. Took it out of the box and plugged it in. It really really works. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good price, works as advertised Friday, December 08, 2006 A Customer from San Jose, CA
Before trying this antenna, I had considered hard-wiring the house with ethernet or perhaps using a range expander...I no longer need to consider these options. This antenna is inexpensive and works as advertised. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Hawking Antennae - Worked as promised Monday, November 13, 2006 Shawn D from Santa Clara, CA
I had dead spots in my house. NO LONGER! This antennae worked great and fit right into my D-link router. I have complete coverage now in my 3400 Sq ft 2 story house; back patio included. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Antenna Works as Expected Monday, November 13, 2006 Robert from Raleigh, NC
This item was exactly what I was expecting. I had a very specific use for this antenna: connecting it directly to an ORiNOCO Gold PCMCIA wireless card.
**Note** There is an adapter included in the antenna's package that allows you to connect it to a Linksys (and others) wireless access point. But to connect to a PCMCIA card (like the ORiNOCO Gold), you need to purchase a separate MC-Card to Reverse-SMA adapter.
This is a very solid product and definitely helped me to pick up the weak WiFi signal I was having trouble with. Was this review helpful?

How much easier can this be? I hooked this up to my Linksys WRT54G and right out of the box I tripled my coverage area. I can now take my laptop clear across the road 300' away and I still had a good signal. I'm Impressed! Was this review helpful?

This antenna is AWESOME. It boosts range and strenth to more than you should ever need. I get an "excellent" signal across the street at my neighbor's house with this. Simple to use. I would pay $100 for something that works this well. I would buy 10 of these if i could hook them all up to my router. Was this review helpful?

I moved into a house built with masonry, expanded metal lath and plaster walls a year ago and I found out quickly that the standard antenna that came with my DSL did not hack these conditions. The Hawking antenna gave the signal enough boost to get just about everywhere in the house (it's ~80' long) and for the price it was just what I needed. Was this review helpful?

This antenna was very easy to install by unscrewing the old antenna and putting this in. I have a D-Link DI-624 Super G router and the signal from the original antenna to this antenna is the same, if not worse. Forty feet away through two interior walls with the original antenna is 60% at 108Mbps, while this antenna is between 45-55% at only 54Mbps tops. Personally, I was disappointed after trying out this product. I went back to the original factory antenna. Was this review helpful?

I have a Hawking 54g wireless adapter and a Hawking 54g wireless router. The adapter and router are approximately 50 feet away, with two walls and a floor in between. Originally, I was getting a 60%-70% signal with the stock antennas, with only a 1 mbs transfer rate. When I put this antenna on the router, my signal jumped up to 75-80%, with a transfer rate of 12-24 mbs. I then bought a second antenna and placed it on the wireless adapter. I now have a 91% signal, and 36-48 mbs transfer rate.
The antennas work great for me, and were dirt cheap . I'm quite pleased. Was this review helpful?

Prior to adding this to my D-link 624 router I was limited to using my laptop on my main floor. My router is located in the basement and coverage was rather poor. I installed this antenna and Whamo! Instant boost! I highly reccommend this for those of you wanting more range and less dropping of a signal. I can now use my laptop anywhare in my 6/10 of an acre yard including anywhere in the house.
P.S. I have a Dell laptop with 802.11B capability built-in. Was this review helpful?

After reading some discouraging reviews elsewhere I was a little leery about this item but decided to give it a try anyway. It has boosted my signal from 2nd fl to 1st floor to where I have no problem streaming audio from my computer to Omnifi. I used mine with a DI-624 from Dlink. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Simple and satisfying performance gain... Saturday, May 14, 2005 Dubhead from North Bend, Washington
Setup of this antenna could not have been easier and the signal boost was quite impressive. I can comfortably surf the internet from my Pocket PC in the hammock at the back of my yard(about 75 feet from antenna)!! It is a no-brainer!! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Product Thursday, April 28, 2005 A Customer from Provo, UT
This is so easy to use and works perfectly. We were having problems getting reception from the wireless router on another level of the house. Now the connection is strong as could be. All we had to do was take it out of the box and attach it to the wireless card. I would recommend this for anyone with wireless reception problems. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Does what it says on the tin Wednesday, April 13, 2005 A Customer from Seattle, WA
As simple and as effective as it seems: my home wireless G connection went from low (0-1 bar) to very good (4 bars) after the 30 seconds it took to attach this antenna. Was this review helpful?

This product was very easy to install and extended the range for my wireless netork to a living room that previously had marginal reception. It didn't make that room go from nothing to full signal, but I can now get a reliable signal in that room where previously it would be in... and sometimes drop out of range. Was this review helpful?

There are many devices that don't do what they advertise, but this is one product that is worth 10 times the money. Our wireless reception in our building was pretty poor with our DLink G router. Our conference room is 30 feet down the hall and we could not get reception. After setting up the Hawking Antenna, we have 60% signal in our conference room and I can move to the other side of the building 70+ feet and get over 20% signal strength!! Very, very nice!!!!!!!!! I have to say I am very happy with this antenna. My office happens to be in the basement of my house and therefore I had pretty poor signal coverage, not only upstairs, but outside in the yard/deck/workshop. Simply by plugging in this antenna my signal strength and quality of signal immediately went up. I can now receive a reliable signal from any location on my property. Simply put, it solved all my signal problems
with little or no effort on my part, other than plugging it in.
On that note, I have to say that form studying the cheesy little photo on the web site, I had no idea the way it would actually attached to my router. So I also purchased a length of cable so that I could attach the antenna to the rear of my access point. That was unnecessary as the antenna comes with it's own little cable and connector. The cable is about 24 inches long too so you have some flexibility as to placement. On the end of the cable is the mini type of connector and it came with the exact adapter I needed for my Linksys wireless system (with speedbooster). An interesting little pamphlet also comes with the antenna which has some educational information and some other helpful tips in it. Was this review helpful?

I have a Linksys WAP54G located in the entryway closet of a 3800 sqft home with a few dead spots. After installing just one of these, the signal strength was boosted througout the house. I added a second one with little improvement over the first. I transfer a lot of data wirelessly to network hard drives and this has definitely helped with the data transfer rates. Highly recommend. I had a signal strength problem with my Linksys USB 54G adapter located in other room 50ft away from the router. Right after I pluged this antenna into my Linksys 54G Router the signal strength boosted from 75% to 95%, and the transfer rate increased from 24mb to 48mb. Get this antenna if you're having a weak signal problem with your equipment. Was this review helpful?

I added this to my Linksys WRT54G router, and saw an immediate improvement in signal range & signal strength. In fact, I liked what I saw so much, that I placed an order for a second antenna to replace the other stock antenna on the router. Highly recommended! Was this review helpful?

But make sure it's compatible with your router! Netgears, for instance, do not usually let you take the antenna off the router, so you need a model like the Linksys G routers that use a reverse-SMA connector, which is how this attaches. Made the necessary difference for me, sending through two walls and open air totaling around 100'. Was this review helpful?

Find out FOR SURE if your router has a reverse-SMA connector for its antenna. A number of less expensive routers such as Netgear's 614 have theirs attached and then you are SOL. Linksys makes a new model and DLink's got at least one model that features the upgradeable connector. Was this review helpful?

This antenna solved my distance issues as soon as I plugged it in! I needed to get another 70ft. away from my Linksys router with my laptop and this unit allowed me to get another 100 ft. at 100% signal strength. Easy installation, just unscrew your current antenna and replace with this one for greater distance. Highly recommended! Was this review helpful?
