Am using it on two computers. Very portable and has good reception and video quality. I am able to use it with Windows XP and Vista. I had no problems installing it. With all TV broadcast by air going digital, the 950Q is the only way to go. I don't know how reception will be with the supplied antenna when broadcast towers are far away. With a portable tv hardware, I don't see the need to receive HDTV quality broadcasts.

i have a fairly powerful machine amd 5600 2.8ghz and 2gb memory. this device is really disappointing, i expected better from hauppauge. the supplied software is not good and performance is all around poor, verrrrrry slow! running vista, it sorta worked with media center but not much better than supplied software. from what i have seen of comparable devices by other mfrs such as pinnacle, kworld etc which also require a lot of computing horsepower, my conclusion is that this generation of this hardware is not ready for the average user as is. i'm hoping that there will be some software updates to make it usable.

This item works as advertised, and I have been watching TV, both analog and digital, on it for a week (O/S is Windows XP). I am pleased with its performance, the only concern that I have is that the unit generates a lot of heat, almost too hot to hang onto in your hand. They provide an extension for the USB port, and I have been using that to keep the heat away from the computer itself, and it seems to be working okay. I do not use the recording function, so I cannot address that.

I read many reviews on various models as well as other versions of HAUPPAUGE's 950. They all listed install problems and programs problems. The new 950Q install was easy and flawless, it is easy to use with both cable and antenna. HD quality picture on my laptop and plasma is superb. I use Media Center with Vista Ultimate, and prefer this over their included software, but both worked fine with the stations received. Recording, playback, live tv, all function just like my older cable dvr. Very nice and inexpensive product.
