| A month before leaving the army, Lieutenant Tom Hobbes is rousted from bed in the middle of the night and taken to a secret location for one last mission: test a simulated virtual reality game used to teach situation war strategy. After being briefed on the top-secret project, code-named Harsh Realm, Hobbes is given his objective: eliminate Major Omar Santiago, who has taken the game hostage. But upon entering Harsh Realm, Hobbes discovers he is trapped there - andi the deadly game will never end unless he completes his mission.

From the director of THE X FILES comes this cyberpunk, futuristic thriller of a TV show, starring Scott Bairstow as lieutenant Thomas Hobbes, a soldier recently returned from witnessing the horrors of war during the American occupation of Sarajevo. Determined to settle down with his fiancee Sophie (Samantha Mathis), he nonetheless agrees to one more mission: he is assigned to test out the newest secret weapon of the US army, a virtual reality game used for military training purposes. Once inside, however, Hobbes discovers that in order to get back to the real world he must defeat the reigning champion, Omar Santiago, who rules this alternate realm with an iron fist. Apparently differing in opinion from his namesake, Hobbes decides that this monarchy must be toppled, in the interest of which he enlists the aid of fellow soldier Mike Pinocchio, and together they attempt to bring to life the belief held by the mysterious character of Florence that Hobbes will be the one to save the inhabitants of the Harsh Realm.
