In this adaptation of the classic Mary Mapes Dodge children's novel, set in 1860's Holland, young Hans Brinker (Rony Zeaner) finds himself responsible for supporting his family after his father (Erik Strandmark) becomes injured in an accident. He travels to Amsterdam in search of money to help pay for his father's operation, and winds up in the city's yearly ice skating race, where he must face off with his arch-rival Ludwig Schimmel (Lennart Klefbom). Interestingly, this program was shot on location in Sweden, with an all-Swedish cast.
