I hesitated buying this monitor. Do not think twice. What a fantastic monitor. Marvelous picture, no dead pixels on this huge screen. I cannot say enough good about this LCD. You will be able to play your videos and games from across the room. The manufacturer could have left off the speakers, they are too small and weak. A real bonus, the monitor includes all the necessary cable to hook up the unit to your PC. I have to agree with many of the reviews, this is a fantastic deal for a great LCD monitor with all the bells and whistles you could want for a reasonable price. Just do it!!! Buy.com ROCKS!!!

I looked long and hard for a new HD monitor and this one is great. It looks great and the graphics are razor sharp. I can now run 2 apps side-by-side and actually see both of them. I am on the computer 7-8 hours a day and this screen and audio allow me to work with ease. The price can't be beat and I got the normal delivery and it was at my door 3 days later. Thanks Buy.Com, I'll keep coming back.

Wow! I am impressed with this monitor. I'm not a gamer or a design artist but I do a lot of work on computers and this monitor is more than I expected for this price. I have 3 monitors on this computer but I seldom use the 19 inchers any more because this thing has so much room! You can easily run two apps side by side. Bright, clear picture and no bad pixels that I can detect. The only fault I can find is the awkward power and menu contols as others have mentioned. Buy it!

I saw this monitor a few months back and held off buying. I went back and looked at the reviews of others that had purchased and the majority loved it. I took the plung and I too love this monitor. I don't need dual screens, I can put most programs side-by-side. The clarity is great at the 1920 x 1200 resolution. Don't wait any longer . . .

This is an excellent monitor. It is extremely bright (I have to tone down the brightness) and the images and fonts are very clear. I used it primarily for gaming, and it meet and exceed my expectation. Not a single dead pixel. Great value for it size. I strongly recommend it if it's in your budget.

My wife spends countless hours editing massive spreadsheets. Even with a 22" monitor, she had to bury her nose in the screen to see the tiny numbers. This monitor dwarfs a 22" wide-screen. Documents are HUGE and easy to read. It's default resolution of 1900x1200 is supported by most computers -- no need for a special video card. With VGA the clarity is great, but with DVI it is stunning. If use your computer for business, this monitor will improve your efficiency by at least 20%.

...and I still LOVE THIS MONITOR!!! The picture is outstanding. Especially with HD movies/TV at night. Only a couple of things I could complain about. You kind of need to view the monitor "head-on" to get the best effect. If you are below the monitor, the top couple of inches kind of goes darker than the rest. It's not that noticeable though, and doesn't detract too much from your viewing experience. I would actually recommend mounting to an adjustable VESA mount to compensate for your viewing angle, although I haven't done this yet. The monitor is set up for it as well. Also, the buttons on the side are kind of a pain if you want to make adjustments, especially in the dark. However, once I set it up, I don't think I messed with the controls, maybe twice. Also, the speakers are not that good, but who uses thier monitor speakers anymore? If you do, they will work fine, just don't expect to be happy with the sound vs. the picture you are seeing! Also, no dead pixels so far. Just BUY (.com) IT!!!

This is the first HannsG monitor I've bought and I was a little skeptical considering the price. I was pleasantly surprised. This is a very nice monitor and very large. I displayed some high def images on it and it looks great. I use Google Earth some and noticed some fuzziness but not bad. Overall I'm happy. Everything was as advertised and quality is good.

I bought this a while back at under $500 and I was completely satisfied with it. At the current price, don't think about it, just buy it. I am an avid computer user with high requirements. I'm not a graphic artist but I am an amateur photographer and work in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop constantly. You won't regret buying it.

Once I had time to get the monitor up, what a surprise. More Real Estate than ever. Colors are great, easy to setup and changing any of the factory settings was simple. I plugged it up, turned it on and XP found the monitor and began using it. If I had more space, I would order another one, buy a new video card with multiple ports and set up two of them. Response time is fast, being an 'ol Geek' this is a wonderful upgrade from the 12 inch green monitors I started on on. Buy one, if it is not in stock, it we well worth the wait

This monitor is fantastic for the price. My only complaint is that it defaults to a very bright setting, but once you turn it down a notch everything is great. I have tested the monitor with games, video editing, and animation and it works perfectly for my needs. Its especially fun for things like command line Linux. Run a ps of all your processes and the longest entries won't even fill up 3/4 of the screen on a standard font. I can't speak to the quality of the speakers since I'm using an external setup, but thumbs up on the display.

I haven't used the vga mode but I can attest to the HDMI as being bright with high contrast. At maximum resolution the screen is sharp with crisp fonts....regardless of the stated dot pitch. The sound is only adequate. The stand removes easily because of the vesa mount. I am using a rotating vesa flange on a different stand for portrait mode. HDMI television is detailed or high resolution with HD programming. Standard television as with most lcd screens doesn't look as good as on a crt.

I did a lot of research, both for performance and reviews and price. Buy.Com proved to have the best price, no charge for shipping, and they sent it in the time they advertized. It arrived safely, and after connecting it and turning on, it performed very well, with 2 bad pixels, but that cleared up when I touched that screen area with my finger. I had read in earlier reviews that that solves that problem at times. So far, no problems with any other pixels and bad pixels seem to be a problem with LCD monitors from other reviews I have read. I noticed a light at the border in some places, mostly right and left sides. I use this for Flight Sim work so if flying at night, then all lights are off, but the light coming at the right and left interfers with the simulated night flying, but it is not too bad. I was able to cut that down some by reducing the brightness. The monitor is not as big as I expected it to be, but it is a very nice size and all in all, it performs very well. The control switches are on the side, a little bit awkward, but no big problem. I would recommend this monitor as about the best buy going for a 28" monitor that I found anywhere. I would order again from Buy.Com if their product and price is what I am looking for. Remember, also......THE LORD JESUS LOVES You AND WANTS You TO SERVE HIM WITH Your Whole Heart.....AMEN!

I finally updated my pc and thought it was time to dump the old 19" crt (big, bulky and heavy) and found this gem! The picture is huge by comparison and I plan on getting an ATI atsc/qam tuner (with cable card for HBO!) to make this a true web tv (1080p plus PVR) for the next generation of Info-tainment! I looked at many flat screens before I came accross this one and for the extra $90 over the Samsung 23" and much cheaper than most 24", this is by far the best value (plus it is a 28" Monitor!)

Beautiful monitor at a great price. I was expecting the display to be inferior to the screen on my 24" IMac. So far, I don't notice a difference on any of my applications, aside from the fact that the 28" is pleasantly larger. Between the two screens, I finally have a computer "desktop" that is worthy of the name. The monitor also comes with a nice assortment of cables. Note that you need a "mini-DVI to VGA" connector if you want to use it as a second IMac monitor.

Although I purchased this monitor for use with a PC in a multi monitor configuration (4 monitors), it also has a second duty as a 1080p HDTV. No problems at all. Just unpack and plug it in. Getting used to this much monitor space only took a day and using smaller monitors suddenly became less functional. It is fabulous for large spreadsheets and expanding YouTube, photographs and email attachment videos is amazing.

I use one of these monitors and find it perfect for use with Word, Excel, and my Browser. Set-up was very easy (changed resolution and let it automatically adjust to full screen width for Browser)and re-set brightness to zero. Ordered second one for my wife for same uses as mine plus Photoshop and she loves hers as well. Set her brightness to middle position. Her photography displays very well. Sound is weak but we don't care. Low profile very important for our desks.

Never heard of a 28" LCD. Or Hanns-G. I wanted a widescreen 22" to replace my 18". Now this gargantuan beauty is on my desk and it's amazing. Bright, clear, no dead or stuck pixels. Plugged and Played! Didn't need a driver for XP. Sturdy base. Pivots and swivels so it's easy to find the right viewing angle. The side/rear-firing speakers have adequate sound and loudness. They won't replace my 2 speaker+subwoofer setup but the sound is way better than typical monitor built-ins. I've loved it for the 2 hours it's been here. if they let me update the review in 6 months, I will. So far, 3 thumbs-up
