Halo: Combat Evolved

What an unoriginal, rushed piece of over-rated junk. The only thing I liked was the graphics. I don’t need to expound further; rent, don’t buy, the game to see what I am talking about.

This is a game with a lot of action and is a pretty hard. The best game in the world. I encourage to buy it.

Best FPS of all time. That is already established. Best multiplayer of all time...? Yes. But, could it be possible that this is the best game of all time. I mean it has been $50 for a about 2 years. You can play it over and over again and not get bored with it. It makes for the greatest get together with friends. People of all ages love it. There's even girls who write to Bungie(company that made HALO) and ask them to take it off the market because their boyfriends play it to much. The graphics are still top notch(They even kick GTA's graphical butt). There's books about it. The game has a soundtrack!(which you can even buy here after you buy this fabulous game). I wouldn't be suprised if they make a movie. But, in the meantime don't sit around and wonder were your going to waste your money. Put it into something worth while like HALO. Money may not buy you happiness, but it can buy you HALO! O...and yes...this is the greatest game of all time. Point Blank

When I got Halo I was pretty excited to start playing. I had heard so much about it. Overall I was pretty disappointed. I ended up beating the game on the Normal level in about 2 and 1/2 days. The harder settings are just the same thing over again but the aliens are harder to kill....boring! Another thing that bothered me is the aliens speak english in some kind of smurf voice. Pretty stupid if you ask me really. Graphics are pretty good and there is lots of action. The weapons aren't really that cool either I didn't think. I was hopeing for something more. At $50 bucks a pop...it's over priced.

This is the best game I have ever played. I like everything about it. it is sooooo awsome. Usaully I don't play FPS games, but this is a genra of it's own. I recomend this game, even if you don't have an XBOX, buy one just for this game, and the soon to be released sequal "Halo 2"

Yes it is. This game is one of the best games I have ever played! Nothing compares to it, the emotion the gameplay, the graphics, the story... everything is just awesome!! You play it once, and you're stuck, you get addicted to it. This is the type of game u want in your collection. Halo is a must have, it's worht buying the X-Box just for it. Don't take my word for granted... Play it!

When my friends first greeted me with the prospect of combating aliens on a giant ring, i was skeptical. But, after playing for a little, i was hooked. The graphics made my prized N64 look like Atari. The gameplay is so amazing and realistic (besides the fact that you are a futuristc cyborg)that i had to have it. If that was not enough, the game's multiplayer offers great cooperative and versus gameplay, plus the amazing online play. I am not a hardcore gamer. I thought I had outgrown videogames in highschool. Then I played Halo. Remember the feeling of utter coolness you felt the first time you played Doom? This game brings that back to the 1st pers. shooter. The graphics and gameplay are amazing, the worlds are immersive, and then you start playing multi-player. My friends, both students and professionals, have spent hours upon hours blowing each other to pieces. So dust off the trash-talk dictionary, because this is the best shooting game that has yet to be made. The rest of us just have to hold our breaths till Halo 2.

Halo has some of the best graphics in any FPS game out there. It also brings quite a few new twists to the standard FPS. Being able to drive vehicles just kicks ass, while little things like jumping, and throwing grenades without switching weapons also add to the game. I gave difficulty a 4 because altough there are multiple difficulty settings, and they are appropriately challenging, the only difference from one setting to the next is more guys, which, unless you like simply standing in one place and unloading round after round after round, gets pretty tedious. Gameplay gets a 3 for one huge reason, which is the balance of weapons. The machine gun is quite possibly the worst gun in the game, which just defies all logic. Though Halo has a large arsenal of weapons, aside from the grenades, only lack of availability will drive you to use a weapon other than the main four. The pistol, sniper rifle, shotgun, and rocket launcher are the only weapons worth jack, the other weapons might as well not exist. There is also the punch attack, which is a huge flaw that is really noticeable in multiplayer play. Imagine unloading *3* or *4* clips from you machine gun into the back of an enemy, only to see him turn around, give you two right hooks, and spend the next 10 seconds waiting to respawn. I can't even describe how annoying this is. Overall, if you own an X-Box(which is too bad if you do) Halo is a definite must buy. With the exception of Dead or Alive 3, don't even consider buying another game before you get your hands on Halo.

Halo is a once in a lifetime game that many gamers only dream about. With the sequel to this awsome game a year away from release me and many other gamers have found ourselves itching with excitement. Why people love this game so much u might ask? Well every thing from the huge expansive enviroments to the wrinkles on the poor dead marine's forehead are just spectactular!!! The AI (artificial intelegence) is the most advanced I have ever seen. You can barge into battle kill a few covenant, then they will retreat and regroup, set up ambushes, or even turn their tails and run way only to be killed by your unstoppable onslaut. The graphics are just spactactular from the wide range of veihicles to the individual blades of grass on halo. The difficulty settings are also so varried from something a 6year old can beat to legendary which can best be described as suicide. There are 5 different veichles that u can ride or pilot. I have found a few glithches in the game .... but even those are kool. The replay value of the game is also awsome. I have beatwen the game like 20 times... this game is not worth wut u pay for it... it is worth more!!! u should deffiniteley by this game for all u know who own an x-box!!!

Oh man where can I start? HALO is the best game you will ever play. The weaponry, the missions...and the story are what make this game great. The graphics are the best in the business and the way the game immerses you. If you want to play only one game on XBOX...HALO is it..no doubt about it.

If you would add up the total hours that I have played this game it would be over a month!! I have never seen anything like Halo before. Of course James Bond for 64 started it all and was the best game at the time but now Halo is the king and will be for awhile.

Halo is probably one of the most entertaning games that I have ever played. This game will keep you at the edge of your seat for hours on end. Halo is the only game that has ever pissed me off because of its diffaculty. In this game, you gotta be a fast Mo' Fo'. It is a must for any gamer.

This is, out of about 15 games I've played, THE GREATEST. I've had it since Christmas and I'm still not bored w/ it. The difficulty settings vary from child's play to suicide. The weapons variety....don't get me started. More human and covenant weapons than you can shake...anything at. You need new tactics for every situation, and every different kind of enemy. The storyline is great...I can't really say much about that w/o giving much away. Once you're satisfied w/ the sigle player missions, beating it through on Legendary etc., there's a whole new world of multiplayer for you to enjoy. Either w/ your friends or online through the several system link programs out there. The only downside to that is you need a broadband connection to play. Now...if you're still not impressed, think of the graphics. This is the only game so far that I have found to use the full potential of the XBox. Antialiasing, volumetric smoke, hundreds of light sources and surfaces, and extremely detailed worlds. If you take a close look at your...dead enemies you can see the huge ammount of time that went into creating their skins. Even the grass looks like my front lawn. Trust me, you shouldn't have an XBox w/o this game.

halo is a wicked game. the graphincs are awesome the game is hard thats good so its not jjust this easy game u beat fast then it gets boring. and its really fun.

This game is sweeet,the more you play the better it will get!!!!! Graphics are mind blowing and the control is easy to get used to, this is one of those games that you play so long you lose track of time!! The weapons are amazing and there are a lot! And that is why this game is the best game around!

THE FUN FACTOR IS OVER THE CHARTS AND THE REALISTICISM IS AT ITS BEST WITH COVENANT SHOOTING PLASMA RIFLES WHILE YOU ARE SHOOTING ROCKET LAUNCHERS AND SHOTGUNS!!! THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT IF YOU HAVE XBOX YOU SHOULD BUY THIS GAME.SO DONT SMOKE PLAY HALO!!!

Halo is the best game i have ever played.. after only 5 mins into the game i could not put it down.. everything about the game rocks.. detail is great.. control only take mins to get used to even if you are a keyboard/mouse loyalist like me.. multiplayer mode is great.. you can blast at your friends with in the deathmatch mode or kick some alien a** in coop mode.. if you have a xbox and don't have this game, you suck!!! .. thank you

This Game is VERY Good. Graphics A+, Difficulty A+ (If you think game is to easy change skill level). Gameplay B+, because the controls take a little to get use to. Overall A+ , truly a next generation game. PS2 moveover-no delays in gameplay at all.

From the multiplayer intensity to the single player challenge Halo is the best game I have ever played. If the scale were 1 to 10 I would give 9.7, the only disadvantages are two weapons held are not enough, and internet play would have been a massive plus. I don't really like single player games normally, but this has flared my attention. The multiplayer is unbelievable. I mostly like the how a player can jump into the cars and run over the enemy.

At first, I saw this game as a kind of "Doom"-esque type genre. Boy was I WRONG!!! Since I touched this game, I haven't been able to play anything else. The weapons, the creatures, the buildings, the carnage. This is one of those rare games that makes you feel scared to proceed to the next room of the complex you're in. It also has an awesome story line, and music that is just top notch. If I didn't know better, I would say Hollywood had their hands in this too. The graphics are the best I've seen thus far. The texture mapping is just incredible, and the water actually looks like it's water! You can see the blades of grass, see the harshness of the rocks, the smoothness of the ice. Very realistic. To sum this up, it's a game that every Xbox owner should have. This is a game that has made my eyes dry from not being able to blink for long periods of time. It holds you attention THAT good.

I've been playing games my whole life. Halo is the best first person shooter I've ever played. Sound, graphics, weapons, vehicles, etc......are top notch. A must have when the XBOX goes online multiplayer.
