4 of 5 Somewhat surprised Saturday, January 19, 2008 A Customer from Talladega, AL
I bought this item on a recommendation from my bro in law. He was looking for a cheap impersonator of a Bosch.
Very impressed with the protection in packing - no damage in shipping.
The positives.
Very quiet; cleans dishes very good; impressive looks; 2 motor design allows top rack wash only.
The negatives.
Bit harder to install (vs. normal US brands), as the rear leveling legs are not accessible from the front. Just a minor annoyance as it requires one to slide the unit in and a out a few times to get it right. On the other hand - the drain and fill locations at the rear are easier to hook up. The top rack has less real vertical tines, so loading was different than the older Whirlpool replaced. Now that we are used to it, it is fine.
Had one part (slip together two piece plastic pipe under the top rack) that came apart a couple of times. Part would be easy to replace, and I will - but for now I attached a black plastic tie to hold it secure. Looks fine; works fine.
Bottom line. Very nice, very quiet DW that would probably sub well for a far more expensive Bosch. Cleans great; is economical as any due to two motor design that allows one to wash with top rack only. Could have some issues with plastic interior parts, but have noted on Haiers web site schematics and parts easily viewed and ordered - relatively in-expensively - I might add.
This one addition. I work for a wholesaler, and we sold sold some 14 ft. refrigerators from Haier. Every one we sold had a bad fan motor, and had to be replaced. The dealers complained loudly at the time - but of recent every one has taken note that there has been no more problems from all these refrigerators sold - well over a year back. Haier had apparently got some bad fan motors from a supplier, but after they were all fixed - no more problems. Was this review helpful?
