 Editor's Note
Barely finishing high school before having their first child, lovebirds Sean and Claudia Finnerty began a life of suburban parenthood before they were even 19. While they would never regret having any of their three children, the Staten Island natives sure do find it challenging. Trying to raise their kids properly while still growing into full adults themselves, the two juggle full-time jobs with the responsibilities of family and the natural desires of people just entering their 30s. Throw a series of nosey and opinionated in-laws into the mix and things get even more complicated. From the executive producers of the huge hit ROSEANNE, GROUNDED FOR LIFE is presented here in 15 episodes--the entire first season.

| | Professional Reviews | DVD Verdict 9 of 10 Grounded for Life was created by Bill Martin and Mike Schiff, whose previous show was the surprisingly successful 3rd Rock from the Sun. With the working title of "Don't Get Me Started" they wanted to "make another series that people hadn't seen before," so they decided that each show would "open with some kind of family disaster then tell the story of how it happened backward through flashbacks." It's a brilliant concept and the execution is faultless. And instead of typical sitcom schmaltz aimed at your comfort zone, Grounded for Life keeps poking you in the eye and busting your gut. - George Hatch
