I have used the Griffin dock FM transmitter for almost 4 years now. I am on my 2nd transmitter after recently breaking my 1st one (all my fault because I'm a clutz lol). I was so satisfied the first time around that I didn't have to waste time researching - I just bought another.
For me, the sound quality is excellent, and I love being able to take it with me into rental cars and such. Also, it's fantastic to be able to use the transmitter inside through my computer, projecting to my stereo. Sounds great inside too! And on top of all that it is very user-friendly.
Highly recommended. Was this review helpful?

1 of 5 car ipod charge/transmitter Sunday, September 14, 2008 A Customer from Rio Rancho, NM
this item is ok depending on, where the cig. lighter is... in my vehicle it is a foot away beyond my reach making it VERY difficult to reach and look at. therefore i cannot drive and change songs on the ipod at the same time, making it virtually useless. on the flip side... if i put it on shuffle, (two thumbs down) it would be slightly sufficiant.
sound is static-y -- just doesn't sound (deliver) as good as when using your earbuds or the in/out recievers.
yay- on the fact that this can be used as a charger as well!!
so make sure you read how long this item is and determine if you will be albe to do what you would like to do, before you purchase. happy driving!! :) Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works well and can't be beat for the price Wednesday, October 03, 2007 ethan from asheville nc
Works really well. Only downside is it tends to fall out with the bigger ipod if you set it pointing directly out of the dashboard outlet. Once adjusted to be closer to the dash it hasn't had any problems. Other than that it works well and the best part is it charges the ipod too. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Roadtrip is right Tuesday, September 25, 2007 A Customer from San Francisco, CA
Love the unit, charges Ipod while driving, gets it off the seat, comes with adapters to make it fit most cig lighters. The only problems are when I get into the city, the reception goes in and out. I don't blame the Griffin, on the road it works like a charm. And it does call itself "Roadtrip".... Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Requires a highly accessible lighter location Tuesday, September 25, 2007 A Customer from Chicago, IL
I tried to use this in our Honda van, where the lighter-style outlet is almost flush to the floor. This basically puts the device out of reach and makes it difficult to use. If you had an outlet up by the cupholders, it'd work light a champ. Great price, if the physical design of the device and your car are compatible. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Inexpensive but functional Tuesday, September 25, 2007 CAS from Buffalo, NY
Good value for the price. Easy to set up and use. The only downside I see is the volume is weak on the high end if you want to crank it up on your car stereo and share your tunes at a tailgate. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Mobil iPod Mount Tuesday, September 25, 2007 A Customer from St Petersburg, FL

1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 2 of 5 Great Value, Poor Performance Thursday, August 09, 2007 A Customer from Orlando, FL
I ordered the Griffin RoadTrip FM Transmitter And Charger For iPod And iPod Mini for use with my Video iPod in my car, since the factory installed radio in my car does not have an auxiliary input to hook up an iPod directly. Unfortunately the RoadTrip does not seem to be powerful enough, as there is static when listening to the iPod. It is like listening to an AM radio station. I tried several radio stations, but was unable to find a single station, where this didn't occur. When you have an iPod you come to expect excellent sound quality and unfortunately, the RoadTrip doesn't deliver. Also, when using the RoadTrip you have to have the volume on the Radio set very loud to hear the sound coming from the iPod, so when you turn off the RoadTrip or change radio stations the sound is loud. Overall I would not recommend the RoadTrip and I'm already looking to return the one I purchased. Was this review helpful?
