We have two iphones in our household and what a great way to cleanup up the counters. A single plug charges both iphones. Because our iphones are in cases the attachments did not work, but both iphones worked fine directly on the dock.

I have 2 iPhone 3g's that need to be charged (nightly!). While I can charge them both using the charger - it only comes with a single insert for the iPhone 3g. While the additional adapter is only $1.99 - it is like $5.00 to ship!
Luckily - you can charge the iPhone 3g without too many problems without the additional adapter.
It would have been nice to include synch on this device (maybe for just one of the devices even). I knew it did not do this when I bought it - so if you are looking to both charge and Synch your device - this is not the charger for you. Was this review helpful?

Solid well built unit that performs as advertised. Only goofy thing is the large rubberized pad on the bottom of the unit (3 point make a plane), tends to make it tilt a little. Was this review helpful?

I could not charge our iPhones without removing them from the protective covers that we have them in. That is a bigger pain than using 2 differnt power cords. If you donot have your iPhones in a case no problem. Nice charger but a big fat pain to use on the iPhone if you use a protector on your phone and who would not want to protect their iPhone? It does exactly what is says. I don't use any of the 12+ inserts as the ipod classic and 3g both sit securely on just the nub. Charges both very quickly. And up till now hasn't show and fault in quality or workmanship Was this review helpful?

Stand is appropriate weight to keep two devices in place without falling over. Nice small size. Works well, but one problem. Power dock comes with a set of custom fit docking sleeves for specific iDevices. Problem is that you only get one for each type of device, therefore if you own two iPhones you can only dock one at a time. Also, it does work with iPhone 3G. Was this review helpful?

The charger works great. Me and my wife both have iPhones and can use this one dock to charge both our phones. My only complaint is that it only comes with one insert of each style. So if you have 2 iPhones you will need to purchase the Universal Dock Adapters for one of them. Was this review helpful?

For the price, great product. Love the non-skid bottom surface. Works well and comes with many adapters. Works with my 3G phone, so I love it. Would love an audio out so you could plug it into a stereo, etc. but oh well. Worth the money and recommend. Was this review helpful?

Great looking aluminum charge, comes with just about every ipod/iphone adapter. The only issue is once the adapter plate goes in, it's a fight to get it out. I had to resort to a tiny jewelers screwdriver. If you have a non-standard case on your iphone like I do, the plates they generally come with fit in the Powerdock 2. :) Was this review helpful?

The quality of this charger is just what I expected from Griffin. High. The sleek unit has a well built feel and is nice looking as well. It didn't come with a dock adapter for the new iPod Touch (2G), but the iPod did. I didn't have experience with any type of iPod dock so I was surprised to learn that the dock adapters are standardized and are fully interchangeable regardless of who made them.

The Powerdock is a great charger for charging two Apple products, e.g. iPhone, iPod nano, etc. However, the one 'flaw' is that it does not come with enough adapters for charging two of any one product- like 2 iPhone(3g)'s- it has 2 charging docks but only 1 set of adapters. It seems that if a product has 2 docks, it should have 2 sets of adapters.
Without the adapter you need to be careful how far you push the phone down because it is not a 'snug' fit- but it is not loose either. Since it is only a charger (and not a toy), it shouldn't pose a problem- but you need to be careful.
The space-saving and clutter reduction from having a streamlined charging station far outweighs the absence of the 2nd adapter (which I am sure I can find for sale somewhere).
Overall it is a great product and a great value.

I got this as a single charger for both the iPhones that we have at home. We have to iPhone 3G's and an old iPod too. It charges all of them with great efficiency.
The product comes with various Universal Dock Adapters, there is one for iPhone 3G too. But you dont really need the adaptor to charge your iPhone. Just put your iphone on the charger and its good to go though with the adaptor the iPhone snugs in pretty well. Was this review helpful?

Great accessory. Only reason I gave it a 4 on overall satisfaction is that I believe they should have added a USB adapter to allow for PC sync. That would have been the icing on the cake. Works great with my iPhone 3G and 30GB video iPod. As a side note, if you have a protective skin cover for your iPhone, you don't need to use one of the included adapters. We have 2 iPhones (original) and we were always fighting for the charge cable from Apple. This charging station is simple, well built and does exactly as it says. It doesn't sync, but that's not what we wanted. One caveat, however, while it does come with a number of dock adapters, it only comes with one of each so you may not have enough dock adapters if you have 2 of the same iPod/iPhone, etc. For us, we needed 2 of the #10 adapter to get the proper fit for our iPhones.
I called Griffin to request another one, fully anticipating to pay a stiff price for it only to be pleasantly surprised when the tech support guy just sent me one for free. Awesome product, awesome customer support.

This won't sync your iPod but it'll keep you iPod totally charged for when you walk out the door. My daughter and I just love it. We keep it near the front door and grab our iPods when we leave. Especially our iPod touches which drain readily when wifi is turned on need to be topped off regularly.
My only negative comment is that Griffin only supplies one insert per iPod type and obviously it's possible to have two of the same, as we do. They do supply one of each and that's actually quite a few but to be complete they need to supply two.
If your expectations are for a double charger that does a great job then you'll love this product ... and it looks great too. We heartily recommend it. Was this review helpful?

Works great. No complaints. If you have a case on your device it may not fit in the prescribed insert, but pretty much anything will fit if you use NO insert... which is an option... don't know if they support that or not but it works great. This thing looks nice on the desk next to an aluminum iMac, and charges any combo of 2 iPhones (including 3G), ipod nano, or ipod classic. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it doesn't sync. It would be nice if, say, the first doc, could be (optionally) connected via a parallel USB cable to the computer, so it could sync, as well as charge. Else it's a good product (most Griffin stuff seems to be good, IMO). Was this review helpful?

I purchased a pair of used original iPhones from someone who upgraded to 3G. I wanted a charging dock to put in the kitchen but the Apple docks sell for $50 each! I didn't need computer connectivity through it, just a basic charger, and this Griffin PowerDock 2 works perfectly. The only negative I can think of is that it is difficult to read the identifying labels of the inserts for the various iPod/phone models, but that is a small complaint and no reason to avoid buying this. If you need computer connectivity, this is NOT for you -- it is simply a charger only. Was this review helpful?

This 2 station charger is just perfect for me. I can now "dock" my iPhone right where I leave my wallet, keys, etc. and not have to charge it at my computer. Price was great and GRIFFIN folks were fantastic when I called them.

This device works great, but does not come with the proper adapter for iPhone 3G. Since it has iPod Universal Docks you can purchase the proper adapter at the Apple Store. As some have stated, you can use it as is either without an adapter at all or with one of the included ones that is oversize. In either case the connector is bearing the weight of the phone with no support and could easily break. Was this review helpful?

I purchased this as a nightstand charger for both my iphone (8G original) and ipod classic. It charges both at the same time effortlessly and efficiently. I've noticed that my iphone charges in half the time it used to and I don't have to pick the phone up off of the nightstand to check anything on it. While in the Griffin Charging Dock, I can use all functions of my phone without removing it. If my alarm clock goes off on my phone, I can disable it without picking it up and that's a great thing! A big plus to me is the look of the charger. It is brushed metal and looks great with any decor. I will be purchasing a new one for my husband soon because I don't want to share! I keep this by the front door for charing the iPod. It's nicer than finding the dock plug or plugging the iPhone into the computer each night. I can not use the insert's since I have the iPhone in a case, but it does work fine without any of the provided inserts. Was this review helpful?

Ordered one of these and it works great with iPhone 3G. I have two of them.
Note there is no audio out on the back.
Price is great since one dock costs $30 from Apple.
I did not use the dock insert and carefully placing the iPhone 3G on the dock connector seems to work fine. Was this review helpful?
