2 of 5 You get what you pay for Tuesday, May 02, 2006 nim4evr from Germantown, MD
Probably depends on the FM stations in your area whether this works or is pretty useless, Most of the dial in our area had some station presence which caused this unit to be full of static or not useable at all. Worked on one setting in the house but none in the car. Previous model worked great for some reason, this was a major disappointment. Was this review helpful?

Guys, Please try to turn off the sound check on your iPods! The sound check is located in the settings menu. I too was having difficulty, The first one (previous model) worked great for about a 19 months and it accidentally broke. On my new 4026 LCDT, I could not get a clear signal even in the international mode. I tried everything! Changing from DX to LX as well. I switched gears and started to check the iPod, I looked at the EQ to try to boost the power to the transmitter and located the sound check set to on, I turned it off and Bam! Music to my ears. Hope this help you guys. Works like a charm now. Good luck. Was this review helpful?

This is my second iTrip. The first one (previous model) worked great for about a year and I was very pleased. I was excited to see this new model come out with a more intuitive user interface about the same time my first one stopped working.
The spin control is great, the LCD readout is great, and the size and portability (no battery needed) is very nice.
However, this model seems underpowered. I can't get a clear signal regardless of which station I broadcast on. I live in a well-populated area so it's hard to find a frequency without some sort of broadcast, but this version is significantly less usable than the previous version (without the LCD). My guess is that since this unit is powered by the iPod, a rather limited power source, the LCD draws away power it could be using to power the FM transmitter. Due to the poor reception I can no longer tolerate using this product and have resorted to using another FM transmitter that plugs into the 12v socket.... I wish I had bought the previous model again instead of this one. Was this review helpful?
