4 of 5 Needs More Power Wednesday, April 15, 2009 A Customer from Waupun, WI
I got the iTrip and started using it right away. I switch cars monthly for my company, so I needed something to keep playing my songs from car to car in a temporary setup. This iTrip works and is easy to use, but it isn't a very powerful transmitter. I live between 3 major radio markets, so I can't drive ten miles without picking up an interfering station on every single frequency. Luckily the iTrip is easy to change frequencies on or else the review would have been pretty bad! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 you need to know how to work it. Monday, January 05, 2009 Sheldon from Houston,Tx
If you use a mini usb car charger problem solved. Like another reviewer said "Do to FCC regs it can not be any stronger" what you are doing is grounding the ipod. it eliminates the static and it is really clear when it is plugged in. so usb charger while playing and you will be alright. 4 of 5 This is the way to use it Thursday, September 04, 2008 A Customer from houston,tx
First due to FCC regulations it can not be any stronger. This is what you do. This is the best way it will work and keep your I pod charged. Use a USB phone charger for your car and plug it in your iTrip when it is plugged into your ipod. This will give a more powerful signal and it will be clear. trust me it works. I have tried it in the two SUV I have. second choice is If you have an antenna please take it off. this will stop the car from picking up all sorts of other radio signals. this worked in a friends car. 1 of 5 Absolutely useless! Friday, March 14, 2008 A Customer from Youngstown, Ohio
This latest version of the iTrip fm transmitter is utterly useless. The signal is so weak that you have to hold your iPod almost directly against your car radio to hear anything besides static. I have the older version of the iTrip for the 3G iPod and it will broadcast from inside my house 60 feet to the radio in my garage and the signal is crystal clear. Now using the same station presets and in the same vehicles I get mostly static. This iTrip sucks. I would not buy it. Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Least effective iTrip I've owned Wednesday, March 05, 2008 A Customer from - Bay Area, Ca
I have owned 4 different iterations of the iTrip over the past 3 or 4 years. This newest version seems to have the WEAKEST signal range of ANY of the previous models. Also the "+" and "-" positions on the tuning button are EXTEREMELY hard to target your fingers on.
All in all though I like the IDEA of the itrip, this version is NOT a winner. Was this review helpful?
