Bring your Zune with you on road trips! The iTrip Auto Plus offers a digital transmitter for playing your Zune's songs through your car's stereo system, and it also features a PowerJolt charger for recharging your Zune's batteries as it plays.
FM Transmitter and Car Charger! We call this one "auto" because it gets its power from your vehicle's 12 Volt accessory outlet. And we call it "universal" because it works with any portable audio device that has a standard 1/8" headphone jack (including CDs, MP3s, cassettes, and yes, even iPod). Additionally, the "Plus" in this iTrip model is the ability to charge your player by means of a built-in USB port. Plug in your player's USB charge/sync cable, and you get to listen to your tunes while you're traveling, and arrive with a fully-charged player.

5 of 5 Great FM transmitter and very good value Tuesday, June 16, 2009
A Customer from New York, NY

This FM transmitter works very well. Signal quality is good, the tuner is easy to use, and the USB charging feature is very convenient. It is a better product than other similar transmitters I have used. Recommended for ease of use, good performance, and reasonable cost.

5 of 5 works well Monday, February 09, 2009
A Customer from Charlotte, NC
I've had this product for close to a month and have been very satisfied with it's performance. I've had to play around with the volume settings on my radio and my mp3 player to get good sound, but I've heard from friends about the same issue with competing products as well.

4 of 5 Good product Saturday, November 22, 2008
Neon from Annandale, VA
I have been using the Griffin iTrip Auto Universal Plus FM Transmitter for several months now. It is simple to use and offers a USB connect (1 amp) that can charge my iPhone while I listen to music. For the most part it works fine, but in urban areas with lots of powerful radio stations, I wish the transmitter is a little stronger so that I don't have to change broadcast stations. Otherwise, that is a very flexible and useful product.

5 of 5 Great product! Wednesday, September 24, 2008
A Customer from Eagan, MN
At first I thought it was junk, but I turned the volume up on my mp3 player and the static noise went away and sound was perfectly clear on my car speakers. I use it on my boat also. Your going to want to get this item.

5 of 5 Solid product and easy to use with caveats Saturday, June 07, 2008
Dave from Janesville, WI
I have been using this product regularly for 2 1/2 weeks and my driving (1 1/2 hrs 4 days per week and 3 hrs on the other weekday) is primarily rural countryside. I use an 8GB iPhone and my daughter has a 30 GB iPod. I wanted a simple charger and transmitter that we could both use in the car. This product fit the bill by being cheaper than the ones available in local stores and having a USB port for a standard USB cable, which allows us to use the standard Apple 30 pin/USB cable that comes with the 8GB iPhone and 30GB iPod. The transmitter works very well even if there is static or a weak station on the same frequency I am using for the broadcast (in fact, it is better than my XM SkyFi2 transmitter base which should work really well given its size!). The only item you will need to use this with an iPhone is a headphone adapter since the jack is recessed on the phone. I have a Belkin but there are others available out on the market. Obviously, this product will work for any player with a headphone jack and can charge anything that has a USB charging cable, assuming the voltage and ampacities works out correctly for your device. The product specifications are: "USB charging current is 5 V DC at up to 1 amp" -- (from the internal iTrip packaging) I would recommend this product to anyone in situation similar to mine (mainly rural with fewer stations on the dial and low ampere requirements) looking to carry one charger & transmitter in the vehicles they drive (we have three and it is easy to transport it this product).

4 of 5 Good product for the money Saturday, May 17, 2008
A Customer from Pittsburgh, PA
For the price, this product works just fine. It's easy to use, but it does have some background noise at higher volumes.

4 of 5 Good, Not Great Tuesday, April 08, 2008
A Customer from Nazareth, PA
I bought the iTrip to be used with my iPhone, and while it was simple and easy to use -- and most definitely compatible -- the iPhone interferes regularly with the transmitter. That's not to say that the iTrip isn't fantastic, though. I'd say that anyone using a standard iPod won't be sorry.

3 of 5 Good but not great Tuesday, January 15, 2008
A Customer from Chicago
The Griffin iTrip Auto Universal Plus FM Transmitter could be a great product, but falls short. It's a nice design, easy to use interface, can broadcast on ANY FM frequency and the USB port is a great feature that not only allows me to charge up or use any USB powered device from my car. Unfortunately the iTrip Auto Universal Plus falls short in two critical areas. First, the power output is weak compared to similar devices and makes it difficult to get clear reception especially in an area with crowded airwaves. Secondly, the auto-off feature isn't sensitive enough and powers off too quickly. You need to crank the volume on your audio player to keep it from shutting off and if you're playing something with quiet spots like classical it will power off at almost every quiet spot. I also own a Port Authority 2 transmitter which is the exact opposite of the iTrip. It only powers off when it should and has good power output but lacks all of the good features of the iTrip.

1 of 5 Ground Feedback - Thursday, November 29, 2007
R David Paine III from Pinellas Park, FL
This products concept is great but the execution is horrible I tested it in a Nissan 200sx, Nissan Frontier, and a Ford e250 van all three vehicles had trouble with the unit giving low level feedback hum. In order to hear the music you have to crank the Zune all the way up and the sound on the radio as well to drown out the hum. Bottom line... save your money

1 of 5 HORRIBLE! Wednesday, November 28, 2007
A Customer from Somewhere, USA
They forget to tell you that it charges ONLY up to 1 AMP.... You cannot charge anything bigger than that. If you got a Toshiba Gigabeat, your out of luck!!! The only thing it will charge is those small flash drive type mp3 players. If you got anything bigger than that, your waisting your money and time. As far as reception goes its horrible. Your better off with a tape kit for it. Just a bad product- how convient they forget to mention that it will only charge up to 1 AMP HORRIBLE! Dont buy if you got a hard drive MP3 Player!!!!

4 of 5 Worth It Wednesday, November 28, 2007
A Customer from Cincinnati, Ohio
This product works really well. A limited static occurs when you are in major cities with a lot of interference. I live in Cincinnati and it works all the time however, when driving through Columbus there was a lot of static but columbus has the most wave interference in the U.S. This was worth what I paid for it and more. I would recommend it to others and in fact I have. One more thing . . . it goes down to 87.9 and up to 107.9 which is a good range of station

2 of 5 budget price = budget performance Wednesday, November 28, 2007
A Customer from Denver, CO
Takes a bit of trial and effort to find an appropriate frequency to use in a metropolitan broadcasting environment. If you turn eith either the source, the iTrip or the car amplifier up very high (but still much lower than the stereo would go comfortably), the music starts cutting out. So you can't use it to listen to your favorites at the volume you'd like. Quite a bit of noise when turned up too. The recharge feature doesn't work for my iPod Shuffle, because the power cord is to close too the iTrip's USB-type plug in.
