5 of 5 Works great! Friday, May 22, 2009 Dave from Port Matilda PA
This device will allow you to use chargers and external power devices for older dock-connector iPods with the iPod Touch 2G and iPhone 3G. My understanding is that charging for USB-based and Firewire-based power accessories was provided on different pins of the dock connecter and Apple stopped supporting the Firewire-based charging on the newer devices. Seems kind of silly, since it is the same voltage, just a different pin in the connector, but such is life....
I had a Maxell external battery pack that allows you to use 4 AA batteries to power your iPod, but when I plugged this into my new iPod Touch 2G, I got the message: "Charging is not supported with this accessory." The Griffin Charge Converter solved this problem perfectly and I can now use the external battery pack with the Touch 2G! This may be a good value for you if you have already invested money in chargers or external power sources for an older iPod and you want to use them with your new device. The adapter is small and attaches securely to the iPod's dock connector. Was this review helpful?

This adapter works exactly as you would think ...allows you to charge your 3G iPhone using older connectors. The connection to the phone is secure and I have yet to have it come undone, even with the phone sliding around on the passenger seat. Buy it, you won't be disappointed. Was this review helpful?
