1 of 5 Don't waste your money Friday, February 27, 2009 A Customer from Los Angeles, CA
First step: definitely don't do free shipping, it came in a box with a folded up piece of paper the only protection stabilizing the record player in the box.
THE RECORD PLAYER DOESN'T WORK, the sound comes out distorted and barely audible, in terms of hardware you're getting what you pay for as this seems like a pretty cheap record player.
ALSO the frickin thing shipped with two USB cables and ZERO RCA cables, thus I couldn't even test the thing until I went out and BOUGHT a cable to actually connect the thing to my amp.
I am currently trying to RETURN THIS!!! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 good product, but poor documentation for Mac Sunday, December 14, 2008 TigerMO from Columbia, MO
I immediately wanted to start archiving some of my LP collection into digital format, so I tried to set up the turntable as soon as it arrived. The included User's Guide devotes 13 pages to setup on a Windows PC, but only 2 1/2 pages for Macs. I recognize that Macs are more user-friendly in audio applications, so that accounts for some of the brevity. But even among the sparse instructions for setup, the instructions had crucial errors and omissions. The actual device setup is really simple using a USB connection, but for novices like myself, I could have benefited from more information about using the included Audacity software for recording and editing. You're not limited to using Audacity, but if you're not used to working with any sound editing software and the manufacturer includes an application for that purpose, then I believe they assume the obligation of explaining how to use it. If you're already comfortable with some version of sound editing software, then this turntable is plug-and-play. If you're not, then you're facing a steep learning curve that's not well addressed in the documentation. Was this review helpful?
