Gorillapod Tripod - GP101P

I ordered the one with the quick release and that is a great feature so I can take it on and off the tripod quickly. This thing is great. We have used it on the mountain bike and out in the woods and it lets you attach to anything or set on anything and get the camera level to take a shot versus stacking up rocks or twigs to get it almost level.

By chance I came across this unique camera tri-pod while Christmas shopping. After reveiwing the product on Buy.com, I purchased it. The product is amazing. I ordered the smallest GorillaPod they offer. In hindsight the medium sized GorillaPod would work best since I have an older, larger digital camera. The small GorillaPod is perfect for today's skinnier, pocket sized cameras but still handles my camera just fine. The legs are very sturday and the non-skid pads on the bottom make for a steady base. Get one!

My wife and I take tons of Motorcycle trips and the gorillapod is small enough to fit in our limited space. Plus it's heavy duty enough to hold my sony H2 camera while wraped around the handelbar, or hanging off of a chain link fence. The tripod is so good I bought an additional one for work.

I bought this item just before a two week trip to Loreto BCS Mexico. These features really stood out for me. It is extremely light, doesn't add any noticible weight to my setup. The arms are so flexible that I can fit it into just about any cubby hole in my backpack or baggage. The rubber edges on the arm nobs allow you to wrap it around just about anything and it grips it firmly. The unit includes a clip that attaches firmly to the tripod mount on your phone and then the Gorillapod clips onto it as needed. This means that you don't have to screw the Gorillapod into the phone for each use. It also has a locking ring that locks the Gorillapod onto the clip so that you can't accidentally disconnect the camera. Everything was easy to use, it was a professionally constructed product with all the parts easy to use. The only minor complaint (and it was dealt with) is that my large SLR camera was too heavy for the joints and they couldn't support it. Well, I went to the Joby web site and they had two larger sizes SLR and Telphoto and extra mounting clips. I bought the SLR size and extra mounting clips. I am extremly satisfied with this product and it is simple and easy to use.
