5 of 5 Excellent low cost stereo bluetooth Tuesday, August 07, 2007 A Customer from Inman, SC
Controls on this unit are very basic which matches with the low price. That being said, it functions execellently. This is the BT 2.0 set to use when you want to choose your headphones to match the situation and the material played.
The included headset is OK but the real advantage is in using the headset of your chice. Paired with a high quality headset it gives audio sound quality equal to the quality of the MP3 being played. Battery life is in excess of 6.5 hours for the transceiver in audio streaming and somewhat longer for the transmitter unit. Recharge time is less than the stated 3 hours. Range in a home situation with transmission through walls is limited to 25 to 30 feet, matching the BT spec.
Pairing is simple and reliable. It is best to activate the transmitter or phone before turning on the transceiver. Mine is paired with a Nokia E62 smartphone that has a BT 2.0 only requirement as well as with the included transmitter.
Answering calls while listening to MP3's works as it should. Conversation quality is good.
My only real complaint with the unit is that the shirt clip should be tighter. You need to wedge the headset cord or insert some folded paper to get it to hold position on a dress shirt. As stated at the beginning, the controls are BASIC. Two buttons for volume +/- and a multifunction button to do on/off, answer/hangup, pairing, etc based on time held and no display other than two LED's. This is all I really need. After all, the phone is in one of my pockets if I need to access its full features. If you need an LCD display and advanced controls, there are BT 2.0 units from Sony for twice the price or more that have these but lack the ability to change the headset. Jabra has a unit that permits changing the headset but it is at the BT 1.2 standard.
In summary, the controls are basic but the function and performance are excellent. Was this review helpful?
